Marina Phuket Resort

Wrap yourself in nature

This wild resort is tucked away in a jungle just off Phuket’s Karon Beach.

At the end of golden Karon Beach, this relaxed resort is just minutes from the sands, shops and bars of Phuket’s second largest resort but feels amazingly remote thanks to its hideaway jungle setting. Wandering around the grounds feels like an outdoor adventure as you walk along elevated wooden walkways that brush past giant leaves and exotic flowers imbued with the sound of cicadas. Vividly coloured tropical flowers like orchids and red ginger flowers greet you just minutes from your bungalow-style room in the heart of this secret jungle.

Why we love Marina Phuket Resort

  • It’s on 16 acres of former coconut plantation that have been lovingly transformed over 35 years into a fabulous tropical jungle

  • The grounds provide a home to a host of local wildlife, so you can expect to see lots of colourful birds and butterflies

  • It’s in a scenic location on the headland overlooking Karon Bay, with direct access to its glorious beach

  • The restaurants are delightfully laidback, with pan-Asian cuisine at one and seafood and Thai dishes by the sea at the other

The resort has two restaurants for laid-back dining with Asian and international fare – we recommend at least one dinner at On The Rock, the resort’s popular oceanfront restaurant. There's a swim-up bar in the pool and for evening drinks, head to nearby bars for drinks in the evening.

On the Rock
The popular seafood and Thai restaurant where diners are treated to stunning sea views.

Red Chopsticks
The restaurant specialises in Asian cuisine. It's just a short walk from the hotel's grounds and is open to the public.

On The Rock is a popular spot for locals, not least for its sweeping beach views and seafood specialities.

What's included

Breakfast at Home Kitchen.

Exclusive offer for Kuoni guests
Each guest will receive dinner every night at Red Chopsticks (one of a starter, soup or salad and one main course dish from a selected menu; excludes drinks and not applicable on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and Chinese New Year).

The richness of the resort’s flora means there are plenty of wildlife-spotting opportunities, too. Borrow a guide and look out for the jungle’s fauna which includes squirrels, butterflies and tropical birdlife, or head down the few steps to Karon Beach. You’re close to markets and eateries, and just a short tuk-tuk ride from Patong or upmarket Kata.

Go snorkelling on Karon Beach, a short amble from the resort.

Dino Park is a fun mini 18-hole golf course through a prehistoric setting with waterfalls, lava caves, an erupting volcano and dinosaurs.

Minimum age 12 in Grand Villas.

The are steps connecting the levels of the elevated wooden walkways which might not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.
