Excellent place to unwind
We stayed here for the first week of a 3-week stay. Being about 1.5 hours from Phuket airport it was an ideal place to get over the jet lag and chill out. It is difficult to get across how relaxed the setting and staff are. It didn't take more than a day to realise that the staff really were very friendly and keen to help, not just going through the motions. The hotel itself is a series of cottages and apartments spread out in a rainforest setting with a restaurant and pool by the beach. The room standard was high. The hotel is smaller than some of the more flash hotels that have multiple restaurants and the like but we prefered this as it had a more intimate feel to it. To date this is the best hotel we have stayed in.ans we would definetly stay here again if we returne to Thailand.
Wonderful hotel with a perfect beach
I did a lot of research before our booking and we were both very happy with the hotel. The photos really don't do it justice. Hotel is on a slope and we asked for a ground floor room which was ideal. Everything on the ground level was compact and it was only short steps to the restaurant, beach, pool etc once there. Even a room slightly higher up would have been fine but this made it so much easier with my walking problems. (If you have mobility problems there is an alternative route to the top along the side and we were even spoiled with a golf car to take us up and down when I couldn't manage and was embarrassed. Thank you) We loved the room which was just their basic one. Had everything we needed and the bathroom in particular was a delight with both a bath and a great shower. So many newer hotels are economising and have lost the special Thailand feeling (which this one hasn't). Bed was especially comfortable and we were very well looked after with a nightly turn down service which picked up the used beach towel and lit a night light to ward off the insects. The level of care and service really showed. The beach was superb and there was lots of space. The hotel is built along a stretch of the beach which is shared with other hotels but it is lightly used and we felt so happy with a peaceful beach. Sun loungers are solidly built and very comfortable. There were plenty when we were there and although the hotel became full it didn't feel like that. There is a law I think about sun loungers direct on public beaches now but we were so close it didn't matter. So glad we went to Khao Lak rather than our normal Phuket which has become so overbuilt. Great beach bar next door for lunch and massages available there. Great hotel breakfast (one of the best for me I have seen) and we enjoyed our hotel dinner close to the sea each night. Cocktails very nice and prices reasonable. This hotel is ideal if you want a quiet relaxed break and without the size, crowds, noise and hassles of the bigger resorts but with a level of luxury and care. Other guests were many european couples and there were a few children but well behaved. Final word to the staff who excelled from the initial booking to our departure. Thank you so much. We can't wait to come back to this special place. .
Truly a little Paradise
We have spent Christmas and New Year‘s here with the whole family and it was amazing. Such a beautiful, serene place! Great attention to detail, everything is done with love and great taste (New Year’s eve party!) It was our 3rd stay, and we will be back! Feels like a second home thanks to the wonderful staff & management. Thank you all, and see you soon! Kathrin & family
Stayed 4 nights in a ground floor deluxe room. The sea view was limited and from some distance but were told all upstairs rooms were full. The reception is one level and everything else is a lot of steps below. Most rooms are in blocks of 4 2 up 2 down. The grounds are nice though it’s wall to wall hotels for most of the coastline. Breakfast is fine. The restaurant is not bad in the evening too. It’s a bit away from everything though difficult to say where Khak Lak centre is. Sea is warm and clear. There were enough sun beds though you have to be quick for the front row. Cushions could do with being fatter and they need more parasols. Rooms are big but fairly basically furnished. No shops nearby but a great little beachside bar next door.
Wonderful place to stay! Location on the beach and in amongst nature at the same time. The natural surrounds with are beautiful. Staff were lovely - especially all we encountered in reception. It is a little away from the centre, but if you truly want a relaxing time, this is the place for you. ขอบคุณ
