A nice and quiet resort
The resort is directly on the seafront. The reception is friendly and efficient. There is a 3-story building parallel to the coastline and there are two wings of pool villas enclosing the central area with the swimming pool. There is no sandy beach, to get into the sea you have to go down some rocks. The pool is not very large with a part for children and a 1,20 meter deep basin behind it. There are enough relaxing beds and there is ample shade. We had booked for two nights and had a room on the 2nd floor, no elevator. The room is spacious with an open area for bath, shower and toilet, which can be closed off by large sliding doors, but privacy for the toilet is a bit of an issue. There is a small fridge with some soft drinks. You can also make your own tea and coffee, although I found the latter not very attractive. There are pads provided but how to use these is unclear, since there is no percolator. Soak it in hot water and you will get a terrible brew. Better get the coffee downstairs from the machines. WiFi works very well in most areas. The restaurant has a closed and an open area, which both look nice. Service is very friendly. However, I cannot recommend to eat there. My Caesars salad was not what I am used to, for dinner I had a grilled pork chop with some curry spread over it and white rice, not a great meal. The second night I tried the Penne alla vongole, according to the menu with a white wine sauce. Maybe a drop of such sauce was spilt somewhere but my careful research did not reveal it, so just dry penne with a few shells. One of the worst meals I ever had in Thailand I am sorry to say. Maybe the Thai food is great, but they certainly have to improve on their western dishes of which, by the way, there is quite some choice. Breakfast is buffet style with eggs of choice served separately. It is adequate.
February 2020 2-week stay
I recently spent two weeks in this delightful boutique hotel, which I cannot praise highly enough. The rooms are beautiful as are the grounds and general location right on the beach. The service is really superb and the manager has gone out of her way to offer interesting and enjoyable things to do, from yoga to Thai cooking classes.
A perfect Boutique resort
The attention to detail at this luxury resort is second to none. There are flowers everywhere. The pools are set around a beautiful shady tree and the grounds are tropical and immaculate. Our seaview room was faultless. The Patron was a constant and delightful presence and rightfully proud of her hotel and excellent staff. During our whole stay we had a feeling of total calm and contentment and look forward to our next stay at the Devasom.
Paradise - So much love & care!
We booked Devasom for our last stretch of travel in December - January from Sydney Australia. It has a boutique feel and appeal to it. This is a perfect place if you are not looking for something large and commercial. This is a small resort but that is exactly what makes it special. We were so well cared for and the staff remembered our names. Khun Rasi was truly warm & welcoming. We spent our New Years there and it was the best decision. The tree in the center is magical. We spent most of our time under its shade by the pool. The place is so tastefully decorated. Everything from the colors of the lotus, to the welcome drink and accessories in the room were was carefully selected and thought about. The shuttle service from the resort to the Cha am night market was an absolute treat. The seafood dinners (especially lobsters) in the side restaurants were simply fabulous and nominally priced. Shopping was great too. We enjoyed the fruits from the market as well. Tip: If you are driving from Bangkok we recommending stopping by Damnoen Saduak floating market and elephant safari on the way to the resort. It was by far the best we have experienced. My 13 year old daughter absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a tranquil boutique getaway with personalized service in Hua Hin, this definitely tops the list. And we highly recommend it. All in all Devasom was the highlight of our trip and we can't wait to be back again for our next visit. Thank you khun Rasi & Phi phi. You really made it memorable for us!
When in Hue Hin
My partner and I have just enjoyed a wonderful 5 days at this resort. We booked one of the villas which was tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard and was also kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping team. The food is excellent and all the staff without exception are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. A special mention to Ploy whose smile and politeness were unfailing throughout our stay. The owner I think lives or certainly stays on site and is a wonderful lady. if you are looking for a first rate relaxing base for your stay in Hue Hin that I highly recommend Devaom
