NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT
It was our first time in Chiangmai and we were happy we choose this hotel for our 3 nights. The location is quite good, many interesting places within 5/10 minutes from the hotel. Rooms were very clean and bed was comfortable. At first we were worried since we read some reviews mentioned noisy airplanes flying all the time but it was definitely not the case. In the pool you can hear them sometimes but I'm sure this is an issue in most of the hotels in the city as the airport is literally couple of miles away from the city center. While we were in the room it was not a nuisance at all. Breakfast was quite good too
This hotel in the Nimmanhaemin area is still a great place to stay in Chiang Mai. Coffee bars for people-watching, lots of shopping and craft markets, street food and live music. Plus being in easy reach of green places and outdoor activities. It's within walking distance of the old city with ancient temples/museums/exhibitions. The rooms at K.Hills are spacious, clean and comfortable with nice soft towe!s. The restaurant is excellent, with a particularly good breakfast spread. The very attentive staff are a credit to the hotel
Adequate but not quite there
Kantary Hills Hotel is in beautiful Chiang Mai and on arrival looks superb. It has some good facilities and is reasonably well situated close to the Nimman Road restaurants, bars and night life. The rooms are quiet and well appointed. What I found very disappointing was the lack of any competent concierge or city advice facility. Some hotels really do this well. Not Kantary Hills. No real interest and certainly very limited English. It proved incredibly frustrating. There is a nicely appointed restaurant which offers both indoor and outdoor dining. But no bar to speak of, and the social facilities here seemed not to be a priority.
Great place to stay for a few nights city break.
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a dual centre holiday. The hotel is great and very well located close to the airport. We had a huge room on the third floor which was more like a studio flat as it had a huge kitchen area. Staff are very friendly and helpful and they were always happy to arrange cabs for us to get us out and about. Cab fares are very cheap - only 85 baht from hotel to old city which is worth a stroll round, especially on a Sunday as there are lots of street stalls that day. Be careful with cabs back to the hotel though as the cab drivers dont seem to know where the hotel is if you hail the red trucks on the street - I regularly had to sit up front with the driver and direct them on Google maps which is fine, especially when none of the rides we had were over 100 baht. The breakfasts here are great and the pool, sauna and steam rooms are a great way to relax after lots of walking. We didn't use it but the gym here also looked very good. 4 stars not 5 on this one only because the room was a little dated and the egg chef in the morning was the grumpiest thai I have ever come across and didn't smile once! Also, being close to the airport has its downside as it's right on the flight path - not a problem when you are in your room as you barely hear the planes but by the pool, the planes are very loud and very low and regular.
I’m always impressed with the Kantary Group Hotels
I’m always impressed with the hotels that are owned and operated by the Kantary Group . They may not be the newest or the coolest but they are well managed, well maintained and regularly renovated . Everything is comfortable , practical and works properly . The groups owners pay attention to detail . The swimming pool at their Chiang Mai property is really good. The rooms have a small stove and fridge . The location at Nimmanhaeminda is very convenient .
