We will be back!!!!
We spend 7 days in this beautiful resort. We indulged ourselves in spa treatments and yoga with sree, we enjoyed the different cuisines offered with different themes, thank you to all the professional staff, Asante sana to all.
We wanted to express our gratitude to all the staff in Baraza hotel as our stay was made so special that we felt as we were in a real paradise. Zamaradi took care of us and was always around to help us out, we didn't need to think! We had birthday celebration and couldn't have imagined better way to celebrate in Zanzibar. Coming back when things go to normal!
Our gorgeous Paradise - take us back!!
We arrived at Baraza after we had been on safari for 7 days. By that point we had dust and dirt that really needed to be gone. Arriving you feel like you have arrived at a palace, an oasis of calm and tranquility. Checking in was easy and we were given a brief tour, told where everything was and how things work and then taken to our room. We were shown around and then given some time to settle in and get unpacked. Rooms are spacious and had a lounge area, sleeping area and bathroom bigger than most bedrooms at home. Everything you need is in the room, we couldn't think of anything else that we would need. The minibar was good and was kept stocked up. The beach is gorgeous and the sand so clean. it is tidal and in a reef, so some points in the day you cannot get into the sea, but you can sit on the Baraza beach and look out to sea. At your lounger - you get brought drinks, snacks and there is somewhere to pick up towels. If you don't fancy the beach you can go around the pool - which often is quiet and again has great service. Food was generally good - I preferred breakfast and dinner to lunch but I always found something that I wanted. Service at all meals was good. The bar was always good with great service. The entertainment was good and everyone enjoyed the beach night with the fire. We talked to the other guests in the evenings and met some really lovely people. I had an amazing massage at the Frangipan Spa - well worth the pamper and a swim in the pool there! We went down to Zawadi for lunch and an afternoon which was lovely - a fantastic lunch and nice swim in the pool. We were the only people in the pool and during lunch we saw the monkeys. I enjoyed the lunch here better as you could pick from a menu. They do this for people staying at different hotels as an additional service, so you should take advantage if you can. We went on a trip to Stone Town that the hotel organised and it was a great day out. The guide was fantastic and made sure we saw everything in Stone Town. He was really knowledgeable and looked after us, well worth going and seeing all of the history and markets, you get a real feel for the vibrancy of the people of this island. Whilst we were there it felt like we were in our own paradise - it was a very special holiday, in a very special place in one of the best properties we have ever stayed at, and with some of the best staff. I cannot think of one thing that I could mention that could be improved. Without a doubt we will come again.
Baraza hotel is A gem to find in the Indian ocean. I found it through Conde Nast Travel article as one of the best hotels in the world, where I had it easy to decide then which destination to go. Its both as cultural and beach destination, exactly what we wanted after safari trip. The hotel is beautifully decorated Oman-Swahili style architecture, green large gardens, nice breeze from the ocean and genuine staff and management that took extra miles to make us happiest I ever was. See you in the future!
I stayed here with my boyfriend and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel exceeds your expectation since you walk in from the personalised attention to beautiful scenery with gardens and installations. We spend beautiful 5 days and wish it was longer. We loved the beautiful breakfasts decorated swahili way as well as dinners that were different every single evening with different entertainment and decor. We enjoyed a lot story telling on Monday, cooking demonstration one of the other days.
