I’ve stayed in plenty of 5 star hotels throughout the world, and paid similar rates for various hotels. This is by far the best hotel(camp) I’ve seen. The service is better than some Aman resorts or Bulgari resorts. The staff are all incredibly kind, intelligent and are at the bar of which all staff need to strive for. Phillip, the general manager, was always around or within a minute appeared. Ally at the restaurant, remembers all of our wishes and wants. The massages were awesome. Game drives - top! We had John and Saidi take us, got to see everything we wanted! If you are looking for a luxury camp in Serengeti - this is really it !!!
Glamping at its best
Beautifully designed mobile camp with top of the line service. The attention to detail in designing and constructing this camp amazed us, more so considering the fact that it's located in the more isolated southern Serengeti. The tents, the surroundings, the food, the service ... everything was top notch. We won't even start with the quality of the massage! Even with the very challenging conditions, Philip, the camp manager, was there to make things smooth every step of the way. He was on top of things at all times, and made sure that we had a convoy escort on our drive back from Kusini to Ndutu in deplorable conditions when others were getting stuck daily. The food was the best we had during our safari with exceptionally elegant breakfasts and a fantastic wine selection. The game viewing was a nice balance of woodlands, river, and some of the migration. We were lucky enough to see a cheetah kill mere feet from our vehicle. A highly recommended camp for those looking for something unique.
Above and beyond expectations
Sounds of cracking antelope bones becoming the crackling in the lioness’s breakfast were the warning sounds of don’t come any closer. With the near as possible photo shoot finished it’s time for our own breakfast back at camp. Prosper our guide along with spotter Mwiti had exceeded expectations once more when encountering another big cat on a hunt and kill. Plentiful sittings of lion were seen during our safari but up close and personal sightings of the elusive leopard and cheetah were more than just the cream on the cake, they were extraordinary. Exceeding expectations had become the norm during our stay at both Bushtops Safari Camps. This campsite was Bushtops Roving Camp in the Serengeti National Park and our experiences got better by the day. High end of safaris Bushtops maybe, but then nothing is to be wanted for in the spacious tented set up and accommodation. Overlooking the savanna and in preparation for ‘sundowner time’ how relaxing it was to enjoy a subtle outdoor massage. This concluded the day’s safari drive prior another scrumptious dinner. Booking and planning our safari with Bushtops was stress and trouble free with emails answered and replied to all within days of initiating required paperwork. This of course meant meetings and greetings at airfields with the obligatory welcome drinks occurred without a hitch. Do it all ago? Sure would
Incredible experience and service
Spent the last two nights at Roving Bushtops in central Serengeti - it was incredible. I can’t believe they can move the entire camp up from the south. The tents are really luxurious and the staff goes above and beyond, especially Philip, Samwel, and Amos (both of them)! They’ve really thought of everything. Our guide Amos found us a ton of big cats over four game drives (leopard and cub, lions and cubs, and lots of cheetahs and cubs!) Thank you so much what an amazing experience!
To delight and to educate - no better safari stop in Tanzania
I have done two East African Safaris staying at 5 higher end places and my top choice is now Roving Bushtops in Senora – they delight and educate their guests with a graciousness that is without equal. We are picked up at the Senora Airstrip and begin with a Jeep Bumper party with a full set of choices including attention to our 13 year old. We have both a guide and a spotter. Both are younger, wonderfully articulate, funny and knowledgeable. They go back and forth speaking to us in English with a Tanzanian accent and speaking to each other in Swahili – the combination has an almost musical quality beyond the conveyance of information. And as for information – the Guide is quite extraordinary providing an articulate education on our surroundings that is a combination of the natural history, reproductive biology, evolutionary adaptions and role in the system ecology for the various animals we are sighting. And animal sightings are far too numerous to report in detail. The camp and accommodations are a delight with a lovely comfortable tent that is very creative in it design, taking many of the best features from a high end yacht and incorporating them into a tent. The staff were outstanding taking delight in delight their guests. The additional activities at the camp, such as the Sundowner or one of the Askari teaching our son Archery were a lovely plus. Perhaps most surprising was the food which was our best meals during our stay in African (with the possible exception of Talisman in Nairobi which is a favorite), but the food here is prepared in the Bush with supplies flown in. We look forward to our chance to return and thank the lead host and his entire team for a trip we will remember forever.
