Ask for Albert!
We had the most amazing time with the most amazing guide, Albert. He was great with our children and full of knowledge about the Serengeti. He even lead a stargazing experience one night after dinner! We wanted him to accompany us to the next Lemala property we stayed at! He went above and beyond!
Lemala Tented Camp was a pleasant surprise
I was not expecting the level of service, food quality, and wonderful tented accomodation at Lemala Ngorongoro. Therefore I was very pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem on the Crater Rim. Though is was a trek from the Crater Entrance, the place was magical and such easy access to the Crater floor from the Camp! It was really great way to end our Safari and wish we had another day to spend exploring this pristine environment . Well done Lemala, will definitely recommend this camp to other guests!
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful tented camp located in central Serengeti. Great service and staff. Wonderful tents and location. The camp's westward exposure gave us the best sunset we saw on our African Adventure.
in the mist
Stayed here in August with my adult daughter. This place and location was unlike any of the others we had stayed in. In the mist, rain, cold, with unique trees. A relatively easy drive down every morning into the crater. Tent cabins spaced apart, walking with escorts to an from in morning and evening. Everything was very clean, staff was great and tried to meet our every need. WiFi in the lounge with charging stations. Ask about the hot shower protocol FIRST. We figured it out by trial and error and a lot of laughs!
Tent camp set in the midst of a herd of animals
Imagine staying and sleeping in the midst of a herd of wildebeasts and zebras with visits by hippos, hyenas and lions - that is Lemala Mara tented camp. Set close to the Mara river, this gives close access to viewing the spectacle of the wildebeast crossing the river and it is close to the airstrip, so there is no long drive between the plane and the camp. The staff is extraordinary here. They all were warm, friendly, ever-smiling and accommodating and provided excellent service. The food is top notch and seems like it should be coming from a hotel restaurant kitchen and chef versus a tented kitchen. Our guide was excellent and put every effort into making sure we saw all the animals we wanted to, including a couple wildebeast river crossings. We particularly liked falling asleep to and awakening to the sounds of zebras grazing and hyena, lion and leopard calls and hippo grunts. This is a place we will return to in the future.
