Fantastic Birthday Safari
My wife had always wanted to go on safari so as a treat for her 40th I booked a stay here, the service received was second to none, we had a deluxe tent with plunge pool, well worth the extra. Excellent food and service including a special celebration and cake and staff dancing for my wife’s birthday. Our guide was named Able and he showed us some fantastic sights. We saw every type of animal you could wish to see. The highlight was the elephant approximately 2 feet from our jeep. The pack of Hyenas with the giraffe kill was outstanding. Thank you so much
Fantastic first safari
I have wanted to go on a safari for years. We stayed in this camp for 4 nights. All the staff were fantastic. They welcomed us when we arrived. We had a deluxe tent with a double bed and a single bed as we took my mum with us for her 80th birthday. Unfortunate we did have quite a lot of rain when we were there, but that didn’t spoil it for us, it made it more fun. We had Steven who was our guide. He was brilliant and wanted to make sure we saw everything. He was really good with my mum, as when we were on the walking safari it was quite slippery, so he held her hand. My husband and I managed to slip over. Our waiter was Sultani who was lovely and really took care of us.
Family Safari Holiday
Lovely people, accomodation and food, excellant guide Steven who showed us many species of animals and birds eating lunch by a lake with hippo and crocodiles to dinner in camp beside the river with spectular sunsets
From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a cool towel and a refreshing drink, we felt at home - the welcome was so warm and genuine. Everything was brilliant and so well organised. Without exception, the staff did a fantastic job. Abdallah, our guide, really made the holiday for us. He was so knowledgeable and engaging and really determined to find the animals for us despite very tricky driving conditions after the recent unseasonal rains. He was obviously so proud of his country and loved showing it off to us. We learned an awful lot and both really appreciated that he seemed to go above and beyond to make our game drives, walk and river safari so special. Chande, our waiter, was very friendly and efficient and dealt professionally with our needs at all times. He always welcomed us back to camp with his big and cheerful smile! We also appreciated the chefs coming out after dinner each evening to check we were happy with what they had served for dinner - the food was excellent every time. There were so many other staff who worked hard but always had time to greet us. The camp is beautifully kept and is such a vibrant but also relaxing place to be - I will always remember the 45 minutes or so that I spent after breakfast watching the monkey troupe in the trees after their breakfast of figs. It was so special seeing them interact. Shaun and Elene are great hosts and we were so pleased that we chose their lodge for our first safari experience together. It was clear that they both work incredibly hard and care deeply for their guests and their experience. We felt like we struck up a real friendship with them both and it was so nice to have sat and had a drink with them.
Authentic Africa Amazing !
Prior to life before children we have visited some amazing places in Africa. Our teenage daughter animal mad Brogan wanted to do safari. I can actually say this stay was the most authentic experience of Africa that we absolutely loved. Not only did our hosts ensure we had amazing service but we were so made to feel welcome and part of the camp. A special mention has to go to Francis our guide not only did he share his amazing knowledge but he ensured we had every opportunity to explore and see the wildlife. Even on the last day of searching for elephants we were then so fortunate to see the elephants crossing the road on our way back to the village. The one week old baby elephant made my daughters holiday. Even though the camp is outside the reserve it gives you a great opportunity to see the village on the way home. We spent half a day visiting the village which included the school and hospital and met some great people. It was a real privilege ! A big hug to everyone at Selous Kulinda Camp you made our holiday so memorable. We wish you all well.
