Saint Lucia has been voted the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination nine times at the World Travel Awards. The hotels here have been luring honeymooners for years – and when it comes to a wedding abroad in the Caribbean, the island also tops our favourites list.

Spectacular backdrops include the Twin Pitons, two emerald coloured mountains rising into the vast blue sky; and we know of the best beaches, gazebos and tree houses tucked in the rainforest for your wedding venue. Here is our pick of the best places to get married in Saint Lucia.

Best for: just the two of you or a small group

5* Rendezvous

Rendezvous is an adults-only resort just for couples, so it’s all about romance here. The team will make you feel special for your whole holiday – not just your wedding day – and they stick by a one wedding per day rule, so you can be confident it will be personal and special. During your stay, spend evenings at the lively Champagne Bar and days relaxing on the beach, sticking your flag in the sand if you need an icy drink from the beach waiters. Fine dine by candlelight and treat yourselves to a spa treatment, booking a couple’s massage at extra cost. You can get married in a choice of locations but the one that stands out for us is the private island ceremony, with a conch shell aisle leading up the white sand. If you’re planning to take guests with you, we can recommend an intimate reception under a giant sail with the sand between your toes at Malabar Beach Club.

Best for: an all-inclusive wedding with your family and friends

4* St James’s Club Morgan Bay

If you’re planning on taking all your family and friends – including children – to Saint Lucia to celebrate your big day, St James’s Club Morgan Bay is perfect. This fun beachfront resort includes water skiing and kayaking; free classes including Pilates and the kids’ club. You could also book a whale watching experience at extra cost during your time away or simply cool off in one of the resort’s four pools. Get married in the secluded hilltop gazebo overlooking the ocean, or opt for a beach gazebo ceremony followed by afternoon tea or a party in a marquee on the sand. You can have a beach bonfire and barbecue – you can even opt for a steel band, gospel choir, DJ, local dancers or fire breathers! Alternatively, book one of the hotel’s six all-inclusive restaurants for your wedding breakfast, choosing from French Creole, international or Asian and Caribbean fusion cuisine.

Best for: an opulent ceremony and large wedding parties

5* Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

If you’re looking for total luxury, incredible service and VIP treatment, choose this grand former sugar plantation, which has been turned into a contemporary and intimate retreat. The resort has one of the best views on the island – drinking in the panorama of the Twin Pitons rising towards the sun. Celebrities have got married here and you can take a tour of the resort to see where you would like to say your vows. Locations include the secluded sunset deck with panoramic views; a jungle setting on Gros Piton; inside your luxurious private villa; and in one of the tree house spa rooms. There’s also the charming white sand beach, or the elegant great lawn for a large open-air wedding ceremony.

Did you know?

It’s not all about the beaches in Saint Lucia. We can arrange helicopter transfers so you’ll get the most amazing aerial view of the island and its Pitons below. You can zip-line through the rainforest, kayak, snorkel, hike – even drive into a volcano and take a bubbling mud bath in the sulphur springs.

Best for: couples looking for a simple wedding experience

5* BodyHoliday, Saint Lucia

Between forested mountains and sugar-white sands, BodyHoliday is one of the finest places in Saint Lucia for health and well-being. Stay here and you can enjoy a 50-minute spa treatment included on each full day of your holiday. This focus on relaxation and health will leave you completely pampered and glowing for your big day and you can choose venues such as the peaceful gardens or dazzling white sand beach. For something that little bit more special, whisk yourselves away to a private island and exchange vows on a sun-drenched beach before indulging in a romantic hideaway picnic in a secret nook back at this beautiful resort. Each wedding here is as unique and special and the team here can arrange both small and large weddings with ease. Your reception can be inside or outside, laced in linen and crystal, and there are plenty of options to create a completely bespoke special day.

4.5* Anse Chastanet

This unique hillside hideaway has a spectacularly romantic setting next to the famous Pitons, and sits between lush rainforest and silver sands. There are so many venues available to choose from, so the toughest decision here is which to pick. Explore Anse Chastanet beach or the secluded stretch of Anse Mamin beach; exchange vows in front a romantic 18th-Century plantation or within an enchanting treehouse; face the incredible Pitons in a private hillside pool suite or get married above the coral reefs in Kai Mer Cottage. If you both love nature, you can say your vows on the Emerald Estate Farm where you’ll help a chef harvest the ingredients for your Farm-to-Table Chef Wedding Lunch, or, if you’re feeling really adventurous, the resort can even arrange a wedding ceremony under water for certified divers.
