The Blue Water Hotel & Spa

Tranquil pools and waterways

A laidback west-coast retreat with attentive service and beautifully renovated interiors.

This Geoffrey Bawa-designed hotel certainly lives up to its name with numerous water features, including tranquil pools and waterways, set throughout the grounds. The beautiful gardens provide the backdrop for a relaxing and laidback holiday – perfect for recharging your batteries during a post-tour beach break. There’s an oversized swimming pool surrounded by shade-giving palm trees and plenty of loungers. We highly recommend heading to the hotel’s beautiful spa and indulging in a signature treatment that has been inspired by ancient healing traditions.

Why we love The Blue Water Hotel & Spa

  • It’s close enough to Colombo to make a perfect first or last stop on a tour of the island

  • Set in 15 acres of wild coconut grove right beside a golden sand beach that’s perfect for sunset strolls

  • With Indian Ocean views and a huge swimming pool, the hotel could hardly be more aptly named

  • You can soothe your jet-lagged, travel-weary body at the spa, which features Ayurvedic and traditional Sri Lankan therapies
