This is a perfect spot for enjoying Sri Lanka’s sunny shores away from the busy beaches. It’s close to the airport, so you can chill out as soon as possible, but it’s also at the quieter end of one of the country’s most popular beaches. You can hop on a tuk-tuk into town and spend some time exploring or just relax at the resort. It’s also great if you want to start off or finish up your tour of Sri Lanka with a beach stay, thanks to its convenient location.
There’s a rooftop spa, as well as a gym, both of which have views out over the beach to the ocean – a great backdrop while you relax or work out. There are two swimming pools, one overlooking the beach and the other on the far side of the resort. The second pool is generally the quieter of the two, especially in the morning, ideal if you want to start the day with a dip. Café C has both a buffet and à la carte service with seating out on the terrace, Lellama serves fresh seafood out on the sand and the new Noodles Wok allows you to try over 15 varities of noodles.
The hotel’s light and comfortable Superior Rooms have recently been renovated and have natural tones and fresh white linens. Deluxe Rooms are spacious and elegant with neutral décor set off by splashes of golden yellow. All of the Deluxe Rooms are located in the North Wing and feature a balcony or terrace overlooking the beach and ocean. There are also Suites which have a four-poster bed and Jacuzzi bath, perfect if you’re looking to treat yourself.
