Absolutely outstanding visit!!!
Hard to put into words just how amazing Santani is! We visited here on our honeymoon half way through our trip and wow what an amazing place it is! The architecture of the place is absolutely unreal and we personally loved how they have designed the whole place with total sustainability at the forefront - simply stunning. The pool area is beautiful overlooking the Knuckles mountain range. The hotel provide complimentary yoga and walking tours in the morning of the estate which is such a lovely bonus. We arranged an additional tour to go to a hanging bridge and do some wild swimming. Our naturalist that took us was lovely and told us so much about the hotel itself and also the local area, wildlife and trees/plants etc. We also had massages, my husband had an Ayurvedic treatment which he said was great and I had a hot stone massage as I love them and this was the best hot stone massage I have ever had! The spa area is beautiful and so peaceful. The food - WOW WOW WOW! Was unbelievable! When we arrived the chef came and spoke to us about food for the first night and then we always spoke to the chef before hand so he could check we were happy with what we were going to be served… we always were but they were totally happy to substitute anything if you wanted. Every meal we had was just unbelievable! The juices were so good that we’ve even ordered a juicer for when we arrive home to attempt to make our own. We literally haven’t stopped talking about the food since we left. As it was our honeymoon they did us a candlelit dinner on our last night which was so stunning and an experience we will never forget. The staff were absolutely superb, so helpful, kind and generous!! Santani was a total dream, such an amazing unforgettable experience! Thank you :-)
Santani is Breathtaking
Santani was the final stop of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka in May 2021 and WOW – it could not have been more wonderful. The experience of being there is best described as both visually stunning and deeply peaceful. Aside from the truly incredible environment, the customer service was world-class, and the food was a vibrant, healthy, delicious delight. The spa services there were high-end and extremely relaxing, all taking place in a beautiful, modern open-air setting. We cannot recommend them highly enough!
A truly magical stay....
I have just returned from a one-week detox stay at Santana Wellness Resort & Spa and I simply did not want to leave! The resort is so incredible beautiful, the team are very thoughtful and attentive. The treatments were amazing and I love that the rooms are open so you can see/hear the monkeys, birds, squirrels, trees and breathe the fresh mountain air. I also love the simple architecture, which so beautifully blends in with the green and beautiful nature surroundings. Although I was on a detox program it never felt like it as the food was just delicious and every dish was garnished in a 5* way, kudos to the Chef and his team! I also did the hikes to the hanging bridge, half day knuckles hike, Corbetts Cap and the river walk. The naturalists were very experienced and happy to share their knowledge about flora and fauna - just a note, if you do the hikes you might catch a leech or two as they are every present in that area (I did too but remember, they suck out the bad blood and are harmless so all good, the resort will provide you with leech guards). The rooms have incredible views and they have a natural ventilation system, which means that you not only breathe the fresh air but can also hear the sounds of the animals, the rain, the bushes, trees and so on. for 24th December they arranged for a bonfire outside and a fabulous 7-course menu. They also had gifts for all guests which we had to exchange, leading to very funny and happy moments - a great ice breaker and way to get to know others, particularly when traveling alone like me. The yoga classes were also really nice, more calm in the afternoon and very energetic in the morning. All in all I can say that this is one of the most amazing places I have so far visited - and I have been to lots of places around the world. I will certainly return!
This was my first trip since COVID started so I wanted a relaxing break. Stayed 8 nights in a mountain view villa. Let's get the negatives out of the way first. It is remote but not quiet in the usual sense. You will hear the sounds of the jungle through the night and sound carries so you might hear any loud neighbours (although this would stop by 10pm) . They do provide ear plugs for those who are very light sleepers. That aside, I have only good things to say. It's a wellness resort so they do encourage you to sleep and wake up early. Morning yoga starts at 7am. Food, service, and Ayurvedic treatments were all superb. Many of the staff are recruited from top hotel chains and it shows. Views are spectacular. Staff were masked up at all times and the hotel can arrange for COVID related issues such as tests. If you have mobility problems, ask for rooms nearer the restaurant and spa. The detox package was great and I lost 2 kg without much effort. However it does mean that you can't try the normal menu and do day trips so it would be worthwhile to add on a few 'non-package' days to combine a wellness trip with sight-seeing and also so that you can try the non-spa diet although even the 'healthy' options were incredibly good. If you don't have many days to spare, a 3-5 day stay would still be very memorable. Highly recommend.
We went to the hotel during Easter week, and it was incredible. I especially recommend the yoga with "yoga reiki meditation". Also to say that the food at the hotel is impressive, especially the desserts. And very good attention to the guests.
