We stayed at 98 acres for one night in June 2022. The hotel is set on large grounds amongst tea plantations and they have since expanded to include a activity centre (with zip line) and pool club. It was very handy for climbing little adams peak and nine arch bridge. Our room was a great size with beautiful views, a great size balcony and the comfiest bed. All the staff are very attentive and our breakfast had so much choice. Our room was decorated with honeymoon flowers and we were given the yummiest pastry cake. They also offer a turn down service although we didn’t use. The resort is very hilly but we were not far from the pool and restaurant which was handy. A few negative points however: Menus given were paper print outs that were worn and needed replaced. When I am paying as much as I did per night I expect presentation. Was disappointed to receive paper print out menu and would have liked for it to be binded or laminated. It looked and felt cheap. The guests staying above us decided to blast music on a large speaker (I have video proof) and I had to phone reception at the 11pm, this continued and got louder so I had to phone again at the 11:30pm. The next morning the very loud music started again at 11am. When I have spent over £200 on one night stay (which has been very expensive compared to the rest of our spending while in Sri Lanka) this isn’t acceptable. This ruined the tranquility of the area. I spoke to the front desk but I felt they allowed this family to get away with it. I was disappointed with the response, had I booked another night I would have been very disappointed. I think this family felt they were on a party holiday to Ibiza! We aren’t talking a phone speaker, it was a large boom club sort of speaker. Totally unacceptable and the resort allowed it to continue even the next day. For this reason I am not sure I would return. For our next night we stayed somewhere else in Ella (Romance in Ella) and also had beautiful views. There was no noise and it cost us £20 for the night in comparison to the £200 spent at 98 acres.
My husband and I honeymooned here and we couldn’t have imagine a more perfect place to spend our time. The hotel itself is nestled in the rolling green hills of Ella with uninterrupted views across the beautiful Sri Lankan countryside including Little Adam’s peak, which is right in front. There are limited residences at the hotel which makes for an exclusive, peaceful stay. The facilities were second to none and the staff were Amazingly attentive and responsive- they even left us a cake and some decorations for our honeymoon! We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis which was another highlight of the stay. The breakfast had everything you could have imagined including options for traditional & non traditional food. We left feeling very full and satisfied each day and had the pleasure of eating our breakfast overlooking the beautiful views. We also had the pleasure of using their in house spa which we would highly recommend too!
First time in Ella
Spectacular view! Delicious food. Hospitality was excellent. There were two nice girls in the reception, kumudini and sabra. Had alot of activities to to engage with around the hotel specially flying ravana, archery, hiking. There are numerous places to visit. It was a great experience
Holiday at 98 acres
We had a memorable 3 nights . The F & B staff went over and above their duty to give us delicious fare and were very creative in their presentation. House keeping staff , Reservations and Reception staff too were extremely obliging and saw to our every need. Special mention should be made of Tharindu our room boy, do cheerful and ever ready to serve. We certainly hope to be back soon.
Its view is soothing and the quiet sensation provided by the wild is subtle. Simply the best outing ever and the staff is wonderfully friendly to its guests. further to mention is its food, which is unbelievably tasty which exactly matches your choices of taste buds.
