You Could Not Want More Space
30+ very spacious and very comfortable chalets set in the middle of paddy fields and wetlands with abundant wildlife (for us the highlight was the nightly flight of a squadron on fruit bats). Very elegant pool and lounge areas. Generous breakfasts and a good range of well prepared dishes (and reasonably priced wines) on the dinner menu. Very helpful and friendly staff, among whom for our party of 4 Ravi deserves a special mention.
Sublime peace and relaxation
Arriving in the dark set the tone with candlelit walkways and electric buggy ride through a superb wildlife reservation with lake to the hotel reception and then onto our fabulous garden room with a gorgeous covered terrace, pond and enormous bathroom. 3 nights of divine bliss passed too quickly. The team were a delight without being overbearing and the spa treatment was so restful. Thank you to Saman, our butler, and the remainder of the staff. The siting of 3 Slender Loris was the icing on the cake. If you get a chance. Do it. Adrian and Amanda
Plonked right inside a vast natural setting (including a resident crocodile in the pond) is this wonderful creation. Nothing here is quite as natural as it seems, as the entire place was designed to become a nature resort, so even nature has been created as it here now is, but it is stunning. Restaurant was wonderful (with excellent food), breezy and a fabulously painted wall to compete with just as fabulous views of the surrounding landscape. Rooms are huge. I would have maybe chosen the views from the rooms to be different. Our bedroom looked into a wall of the house nextdoor, while the shower window looked over the beautiful pond..... not sure why. But in any case, none of this would make us reconsider our choice of hotel on a next visit. It is a magical place with magical staff (and check out the spa....ahhh). great place to watch birds!
Beautifully presented and an exquisite experience combined with impeccable service. The rooms, food and beverage and ambience were unique and truly something that needs to be experienced in Sigiriya. A must experience hotel in the province.
Sorry its taken so long to write this review. Visited in November 2019. Stayed in a Paddy Dwelling The room was so fantastic, everything was thought of. We had our own little pool outside and the bath was massive. I loved the Hotel, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the surroundings were out of this world. It was very peaceful. The hotel was full but it didn't feel like it. The pool was really inviting. We stayed for 4 nights and I could have stayed much longer. It was well situated for visiting Sigiriya Rock and other places of interest. The restaurant was lovely, over looking the lake. The food was out of this world. I went for the curries most nights. All in all I loved it. A speacial mention to Kisali, Rowan, Malif, but every single staff member was great
