Terrible... they Have even removed my Review from their Face Book Page
The arrival welcome wasn't good, Security were not informed of our booking since the Front office didn’t had our Booking. * From the car park we were forced to bring in our won Baggage no help was offered, even though the Hotel was only 30 % occupied. . * 1st Night bed turn down wasn't done and completely ignored * We were on time for breakfast on 28th Feb, the Coconut water had been available but the jar was empty, we ask 3 personal (Action Egg Chef/ A waiter and a Dining Room Supervisor) but no one was interested to serve us Coconut water which is very Common in Sri Lanka, when we made the complain the ( Sous Chef/ F&B Manager ) both said that they were unaware of our request. Which shows that the communication of such simple request is not filter down to the relevant personal. So we booked the second 28th Feb only Room Only * When requested for Tea from a dining room supervisor offers us Made up TEA ??? WHY would I go to a 4-star Hotel to be served a Made up Tea, instead I should go to a road side boutique for such a Service. *The toilet Shower floor was dirty and when made a request to clean the same, the Housekeeping supervisor said that IT is clean and the white stains are from the Wax they have applied to the floor, but for our surprise it is not all over the floor and except near the Gully area, (Plz refer the photos) * The Shower control is not working when you shower water coning from both drip tap and from the shower so the water presser was very low, this was brought to the Front Office Manager s Notice but nothing was done. * Our room only had one Veranda Chair and made a request to the reception to have one, but it was never done so we couldn't sit out for a chat that night.( would you think this is call service this should have noticed when the Housekeeping is releasing room to Front Office staff but they even failed to do so once the guest himself point out the mistake they totally ignored 3 opportunities to correct them self ) *Over all the attitude of the staff from top to bottom (Management to lower level) and facility for Sri Lankan s were bad, *The Hotel ill-treat the Local guest, the hotel only had 77 guest, and it’s around 33% Occupancy, and still they failed to provide some basic facility, *When I made the complain we were offered Free Take away sandwich for safari, Evening Snakes, even offer to bring in our friend s to the hotel for a corkage free drink, (we refused all of them as we were badly treated before our Complaint) *But on the first day when I request to bring in a Friend from outside we were strongly declined for the same, and were forced to purchase from the bar. * The stray Dogs and cats were all over strolling around, when inquirer from a Staff member said the Managing Directors Sister is a Dog Activist and hence the management is not taking any action. And this shows that the Management is least concern about the safety of paying gust, The Dogs were seen near the main Dining hall pestering guest for Food. And in the public areas as well. * we wanted to see the Manager and was informed the Manager is not in and will meet Us next day, but he was not bother to meet us , and was Ignorant not to Call us even though they had our Phone numbers on Arrival ( Local No) neither he has try to contact us on E mail, further more he has not taken interest to write to us through the review which we had done on Bookings.com as we made this booking through Booking .com, He did not had the bone to face the truth or don’t care attitude, this whole situation could have avoided if he had communicated with us while we were there. Our short holiday was ruined and suggest that guest should be cautious when booking this property or any Cinnamon property in Sri Lanka, If the management is not have the time to reply to its guest concerns.. We made a post on the properties Face Book Page and it was removed by the management, so Please do not believe the Face book of the property as they only accommodate good reviews in its FB Page. Only good thing at the property was the Pool, and the Security Staff who was greeting Guest every time you drive past ... ( Plz refer the Photos)
Extremely Comfortable Place, Plenty to do
We stayed 3 nights here half board and really had a great time. There is a more expensive Cinnamon hotel next door which shares the same beautiful grounds but this one was just fine. Location seems a bit remote but it is a great base for a few of the big attractions but also just to spend a few days away from the crowds. We were shown to our room and it was OK but had twin beds and we had requested a double. When we spoke to reception there was an instant apology and we were immediately given another with a double bed. It was huge and very comfortable. The grounds were a lovely feature and are great for spotting wildlife, especially birds, but also monitor lizards and the usual cheeky monkeys! The pool was good and never busy despite the hotel being almost full. The dining experience was exceptional despite it being a buffet. The selection of Sri Lankan food was outstanding both at dinner and breakfast but there was also a huge selection of western dishes which looked good. Staff were courteous and attentive without exception. Hard to fault this place really, we could have and wanted to stay longer.
Fantastic 2 night stay touring Sri Lanka
We stayed here for 2 nights after travelling for nearly 24hrs. We're met warmly by the hotel staff with complimentary drinks and cool cloths. The rooms had everything you would need. The pool area was spacious and had plenty loungers. Dinner was buffet style with plenty of choice both western food and local. Ideal location to visit the national parks to see the elephants. Highly recommend this hotel
Tranquil haven in the Cultural Triangle
Habarana Village offers a beautifully peaceful location beside a huge lake teeming with interesting plants and birds. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful at all times. The chalet-style rooms are quite spacious and set in well-tended gardens, with very enthusiastic and attentive room-service. The unusual fan-shaped pool was a lovely place to relax after the early morning climb of Sigiriya or a local safari. The pool-side outdoor dining for couples was delightful with excellent food both at breakfast and dinner and very friendly and helpful service from the young waiters. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and wished we could have stayed longer than our two nights.
Classy location at the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle
We spent two nights here as our base for exploring this superb part of Sri Lanka. It’s a great hotel with friendly staff for whom nothing seems too much trouble. There’s a small pool which you can enjoy for an hour or two in the evening if you return early from your excursions (it’s not really designed for anyone expecting to spend a whole day there). Food as superb - especially the lentil dhal and the other Sri Lankan curries. Recommended.
