Service and tranquility

This hotel is something special. Forget the mass tourism of Maspalomas, the hotel exudes old fashioned charm and elegance in a relaxed and exceeding well kept setting. The service is impeccable, the environment superb and the food a delight. We go there year after year and will continue to do so.

Repeat Performance

Not our first visit and most certainly not our last. We have visited this hotel since, I believe ,2002. The standards were exceptional then and continue to be so on every visit we have made since. No member of staff ever passes without greeting guests. What is also wonderful is the number of staff who have been there for as long as we have been going. For us it’s perfect

Superb Hotel

This is a superb hotel, one of the best we have ever stayed in. Their attention to detail is incredible. We felt so welcome on arrival, and were offered complimentary drinks in the piano bar by charming reception staff, who also gave us a mini-tour of the hotel facilities. The rooms and suites are beautiful, with stunning balconies and terraces, screened by lush greenery. The hotel itself is on just 2 floors, built within a palm grove. All areas are spotlessly clean. Staff are special, with the right mix of professionalism and frendliness. Whilst having lunch in the pool bar one day, one of the waiters, with a smile, told us we could sit anywhere we liked, telling us “you are at home”. We appreciated this. Food in this hotel is something special. Memories of the twice weekly barbecue will stay with us for a long time. The range of salads and quality of produce on offer was superb, and the choice of fish, shellfish, poultry and meat from the grill was amazing, cooked to perfection right in front of you by the hotel chefs. We loved the flambe station and the Asian stations at the barbecue. Half board included a 4 course meal with plenty of choice, and there was also the catch of the day. The daily breakfast buffet was excellent, with so many varieties of fruit, yogurt, cold meats and smoked fish, breads, (including gluten free), and freshly carved Iberico ham. A freshly cooked breakfast was also available from the chefs. We appreciated the smoking and non smoking areas in the restaurant and piano bar area. Tap water on the island is not drinkable, so the hotel provides ample bottled water for guests, with a choice of still or sparkling. A huge bowl of fresh fruit was also provided, and replenished daily. Rooms were cleaned quickly every morning, and bathrooms well appointed with separate shower, and a second shower over the bath. The hotel grounds are well looked after, with palm trees, birds of paradise bushes and cactus plants. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the sand dunes, and Maspalomas shops. But the atmosphere of the hotel itself was so special, that we didn’t really want to leave its grounds! We hope to return soon!

Just Fab

We travelled to Gran Canaria on the 4 th of May and stayed for a week at the Residencia in Maspalomas. What a wonderful week we had there. Would I recommend this hotel…. Absolutely. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The food was wonderful and plentiful. We stayed o room 142 which was a dune quiet room. We will definitely go back next year. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so nice.

Exquisite pearl !

We experienced an exceptional 10 days in La Residencia and we were surprised by the high standard and luxury of this hotel. Especially the warm and personal attention of the staff made us feel welcome and at home. Our room was on the ground floor with a lovely terrace under the palmtrees in a small oasis of flowers and birds. It felt like Paradis ! We highly recommend this lovely hotel and look forward to stay there again soon.
