Fantastic Venue, Unreservedly Recommended
This place is brilliant. Arranged in a resort complex with several pools, the accommodation is split into a number of buildings, which gives a more 'open' feel. The resort's restaurants are excellent, especially the buffet restaurant which changes its menu focus daily, including Asian, Italian, International, and so on. The resort also puts on a number of activities, including some for children, during the day, and has entertainment in the Plaza in the evening. This ranged from music (bands) to flamenco dancing. Our favourite was the circus troupe, who put on a truly fantastic and skilled show. Great place.
Great location and grounds
We stayed here for 10 nights in an apartment that overlooked the grounds and out to sea. The apartment was spacious with balcony. A walk-in wardrobe and roomy bathroom added to the feeling of space. The room was well serviced during our stay. Considering soft bathrobes were provided it was a pity the towels didn’t match this quality of softness. The grounds are well laid out with plenty of sun loungers and several pools.Beach type towels are provided. These were soft! A village type ambience is created with the design of the different styles of buildings, especially the plaza area. The grounds delightful and well maintained. The dining facilities consist of 2 buffet restaurants, given the time of the season only 1 of these was opened. There is an a la carte restaurant which provides food for extra charge over half board. The buffet food is varied and plentiful, catering for the range of palates of residents. Quality of some of the cooked food was variable. Understandable given the need to cater for the numbers waiting. All the staff we encountered were very approachable, friendly and helpful making the stay that much more enjoyable. Please note many of the rooms are in the main hotel block and do not have the outlook or spaciousness that has been described. Also, the Lopesan chain operates the concept of ‘ unique’ guests with separate areas etc. set aside for such extra paying guests. ( The hotel closed the day we were leaving with remaining guests being transferred to another hotel in the chain. Hoping for brighter times! )
Hard times for all.
Wishing all of the villa del conde family good health in these very testing times. We have been visiting you since 2008 and hopefully will be joining you again in October 2020, looking forward to it, as always. Take care of yourselves and each other. Sharon and Alistair Johnston, Scotland xx
Great hotel but shame everything is closing
We checked travel advisory before we left last week been in lockdown for the last 2 days. For the future this is a very good hotel. Rooms are large. Lots of space with several pools. Main restaurant is very good with 2 stations cooking fresh fish an meat. Very big choice of different food. The staff here cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much. When hopefully these terrible times are past you will have a great holiday here.
Wonderful Hotel and a very sad goodbye
What a wonderful Hotel with amazing staff who can’t do enough to please you. Great food, good evening entertainment and beautiful grounds. The Hotel is closing today and we are so sad for all the wonderful staff. We hope that once this worldwide crisis is over the Villa del Conde will open once more and we will certainly return. We hope all the staff and their families stay safe.
