Secrets Bahia Real Resort & Spa
With its eye-catching design that blends Moroccan, Andalusian and Canarian influences to magical effect and its unbeatable setting on a sweep of icing-sugar sand, Secrets Bahía Real feels like a very grown-up oasis. Lazing by the pool surrounded by soaring palm trees, relaxing in the hammam in the large spa or soaking up the views of sea, sand and islands from a beach bed, guests could be forgiven for thinking they really are in the sultan’s palace that the architecture evokes - and a particularly well-run one as well.
Nowhere is that sensation of being a treasured visitor more obvious than in the sheer range of cuisines and culinary styles on offer in its many restaurants and bars. There’s a perfect chill-out venue right on the beach, complete with a cool indie-music soundtrack and Bali beds; another laidback waterside venue with a lunchtime menu of super-fresh seafood from the grill; and, of course, an invitingly casual bar by the pool. But there’s plenty to dress up for later in the day as well, from Asian fusion food and stylish Japanese dishes to the flavours of Italy, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean.
The suites are light and spacious and feel even more so thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and a gently contemporary design based on neutral colours and natural textures. What the lead-in Junior Suite Pool View misses out on in the way of Atlantic vistas, it makes up for in tranquillity; if you want to gaze at the waves from your terrace or balcony, opt for a Junior Suite Side Sea View or a Junior Suite Sea View. For more space indoors and out in which to relax, upgrade to a Junior Suite Deluxe Garden View or Junior Suite Deluxe Sea View; the Grand Junior Suite Deluxe Sea View has a particularly generous terrace from which to enjoy the panoramic seascape.
Preferred Club
For added benefits, including private sundecks and lounges, there’s a choice of four room types, all with ocean vistas, starting with the Junior Suite Sea View - Preferred Club and the Junior Suite Deluxe Sea View - Preferred Club. There’s even more space - twice as much, in fact - in the Master Suite Sea View - Preferred Club, but the largest of all is the Presidential Suite - Preferred Club with its vast terrace, whirlpool bath and choice of rooms.
