All expectations blown out the water
This hotel was absolutely stunning. I visited with my mother and aunty for her 60th birthday and we could not have asked for a better few days away. The staff were helpful, rooms lovely and air conned. We made use of the tennis courts, swimming pools, big hire and restaurants. The food was lovely, we ate in both the restaurants. But the absolute gem of this hotel is the breakfasts. So much choice, tasty juice and beautiful eggs benedict. We booked through Jet2 and the hotel seems to have been updated since the photos were taken. We will be back hopefully next year!
Fabulous relaxing stay and great staff - especially Ana the guest experience manager
Just checked out from a 5 day relaxing break, half board basis with British Airways. Had visited here in 2015 and it’s even better :) Really tranquil and beautiful surroundings. Lovely spacious and very clean room and facilities. Loads of places to sit and read a book or have a drink. Two big outdoor pools, both peaceful and tonnes of sun lounger and Bali bed availability - even if arriving at the pool at lunchtime. The quiet pool was a bit cooler in temperature than the main pool. Loads of shade options including retractable canopies - and nice beanbag loungers too. Good smallish gym and outdoor running track. Lovely grounds to have a wander around. I ate at both evening options - main restaurant and tapas - both lovely and the team kindly made me a main dish out of a starter option one night, and gobsmacked about how much tapas you could get with the half board option - steak, lobster, calamari - yum. Also had pool snacks and lunch. I had no issues at all with speed of service or orders - quite the opposite. Wasn’t crowded at all. Restaurant staff were really positive and helpful - I even got my own dedicated morning water ice bucket as I was drinking so much water :) Some light evening music to accompany dinner too. Loved the fresh fruit choice at breakfast and all the hot options did their best to ruin my diet - omelette, crepes, all fab. Visited the spa for a good massage, went to the local sea club one day and did a nice walk from Arenal to Palma - all with the support and kind advice of the team. What made it really special was Ana the guest experience manager. She was so helpful and responsive in the run up to the trip - and she arranged the spa for me in advance, advised on some other bits and also arranged a fabulous sunset horse riding trip. She really went above and beyond to make a difference - thank you! She made it a must return (again!). Was also nice to see the manager also walking around the grounds helping and ensuring a warm welcome. Thank you for a fab short break in the sun. P.s. I think the lady who wrote the English language review just prior to me must have been at a different hotel!! Completely disagree. We have visited this hotel Several times and it has been lovely but we are actually here now and I can only describe it as shocking. We have tried to have dinner in the dining room three times, it takes up to 2 hours or more to get any food, the menu is very limited and they constantly run out of food. Last night a guest ran out of the dining room in tears saying she couldn’t take any more, guests are asking for a bread roll just to stave off the hunger. Staff are running around trying to keep everyone happy but they either have no food to serve or they are serving meals that haven’t been ordered, it is chaotic. It isn’t the fault of the restaurant staff, the chef clearly hasn’t got a clue what they are doing and there is no management to be seen, guests have been queued up in reception waiting to complain but the Manager Susanne won’t see anyone, she hides away in an office and doesn’t seem interested. Lots of guests saying they will never return. The Zoetry seems to be doing everything on the cheap, no more Bulgari toiletries in the en-suite, just a large bottle of body wash, not what you expect in a 5 star hotel. The Gym has been closed and the health spa can only do massages as they have no products to do facials. The hotel now seems to be more interested in hosting weddings and corporate events which is very disappointing as it is a lovely hotel in an idyllic location. If you stay here make sure you have details of other restaurants in the area as you won’t get fed easily here and the website is misrepresenting the hotel and needs to be up-dated, the facilities here have been downgraded. So sad to be writing this but having spoken to so many upset guests I feel people should be warned before spending a lot of money, bearing in mind it is around 500 euros per night to stay here. Hyatt hotels need to get rid of the hopeless manager and sort out the issues before the hotel gets a very bad reputation..
Overall lovely stay
This was a great hotel with a beautiful courtyard and some lovely surrounding buildings. The highlight was the aforementioned courtyard where you can have breakfast and dinner. The pools are nice. The staff are very friendly. There are no fights for sun loungers. The breakfast is awesome. The downsides: - for whatever reason the service is very very slow at breakfast and dinner, which is fine if you are there early and are looking for chills vibes (which we were)… but what this means is that tables fill up in the courtyard and people have to wait around for a table. I don’t think this is great for a 5 star hotel. Some looked like they were waiting for ages… - one day they seemed to run out of food at lunch. Again we are quite chilled so we just had a few drinks, but others were understandably annoyed at this - the food overall is good but not THAT good and lacking in variety. It certainly isn’t as gourmet as the website suggests. We were on half board so we stuck to the better tapas plates, but some of these we tried once and thought never again…a lot of the food seemed frozen and/or just not very fresh Overall we loved the holiday and thanks to the staff for a great experience!!
Amazing Hotel and Staff
We have recently returned from a five day break at the Zoetry. A beautiful hotel with amazing staff who all work so hard. Rooms are immaculate with excellent housekeeping. Breakfast was lovely - served on the outside terrace - very good choice of food and looked after by Sally and all the team who were very attentive. We had dinner at the hotel on two evenings and the food was excellent - the cod with alioli and tomato was really delicious. Evening entertainment was lovely too while dining. The spa is lovely - I had reflexology which was amazing. Our thanks to all the staff on reception - in particular Helena and Teressa - who were so kind and helpful. Our special thanks also to Ana and Rui for their amazing customer service. Every hotel needs people like them - amazing work ethic and lovely people! So helpful with any request we had - and so professional - truly amazing. Outside pools are lovely and it’s so peaceful walking around the grounds. We had a wonderful time at the Zoetry and can’t wait to return!
