Based around a recently renovated Mallorcan stately home, this refined countryside bolthole has a relaxed focus on wellness.
The past is all around at Zoëtry Mallorca. At its heart is a large and elegant manor house that can trace its roots back 600 years, and in the peaceful grounds there’s a 15th-century windmill and a neo-gothic chapel. These provide a uniquely atmospheric backdrop to more recent additions such as sleek outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts and a cross-country running track that are all part of a holistic approach to wellness that encompasses everything from the estate’s organic vegetable garden to the yoga-themed retreats.
The spa, of course, is a key feature in all this - and it doesn’t disappoint. The chic light-filled space contains treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool and a thermal suite where everyday cares are sure to fade away. But it’s not the only place where you’ll experience a gentle restoration of body and soul. It’s just as likely to happen as you sip an impeccably mixed cocktail on a stone-cobbled terrace worn smooth by time or savour the freshest Mediterranean dishes with a twist in the grown-up gourmet restaurant. And if that isn’t enough to banish your stress, you can always organise a trip in a hot-air balloon or a romantic dinner on a fishing boat.
There are 90 rooms and suites arranged across several buildings: the original manor house and more recent structures next to it. The decoration is contemporary-elegant, with period features in some rooms, and a palette of warm, earthy tones. The Double Tramuntana rooms are in the old house, while the similarly sized Double Ponent rooms are in the newer buildings, with views over the countryside. If you want more space, opt for a Deluxe Double Tramuntana or a Deluxe Double Ponent; the latter has a private terrace. In the best spot in the historic house, the Junior Suite Tramuntana provides even more space and views over the garden.
