Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa
This is one of the first Secrets resorts to open in Europe, and you can expect exceptional service, a peaceful vibe and an alluring beachfront location. Mallorca has a wonderful year-round climate and the hotel certainly makes the most of it, perched above a pine-fringed stretch of golden sand lapped by the Mediterranean waves. The building itself is reminiscent of a fairytale castle with flagstone walls and enchanting turrets, and was a favourite among Spanish aristocrats in the 1950s. The regal outdoor pool is lined with loungers and private canopied beds overlooking the sea, there’s a traffic-free promenade below which is great for a stroll, and the pool bar means you’re only a few steps from a refreshing cocktail.
World Café serves a tempting international buffet breakfast and an evening buffet with fresh fish and grilled meats, as well as spectacular show cooking. Enjoy Mediterranean cuisine at Olio, grilled specialities at the Seaside Grill and light bites and lunches at the Barefoot Grill. Choose from five bars including the new Coco Café, which does great premium coffees, teas and delicious snacks.
Secrets Spa has facilities including an indoor pool with water jets, whirlpool and solarium. The hotel offers Pilates classes, the adjacent beach has watersports including windsurfing and jet skiing and the dive centre on Boulevard de Paguera will take you wreck and cave diving. The town is also home to the renowned Tennis Academy Mallorca, where both Boris Becker and Steffi Graff have trained. If that’s all a little too exhausting, then just relax at the full-service spa complete with small indoor pool, whirlpool and steamroom.
Rooms are bright and airy, and many have sea views. Upgrade from a Standard Room or Standard Sea View to a Junior Suite for a sitting area, balcony or terrace and ocean views — Preferred Club rooms have special extras including afternoon hors d'oeuvres and access to a private sun deck.
