Fabulous hotel but a small gym, & use of the spa facilities not included
This was our second stay at this hotel which we really enjoyed, and this is my second review of it. We booked Bed & breakfast as we like to sample the numerous bars and restaurants just a short distance away within the local area. The variety of choice & quality of the food at breakfast is outstanding. We tried lunch at the pool bar on one occasion which although very nice, was quite expensive compared to eating outisde of the hotel. The sunbeds around the attractive pool area are extremely comfortable. There is a lot to like about this hotel but it is not a cheap option. My husband and I particularly like to use the Gym & spa facilities which are normally good quality and included in a 5 star hotel such as this. For such a large hotel the gym here is quite small & it feels claustrophobic particularly if there are several other people using it at the same. Use of the indoor pool & spa facilities are only available at an extra charge which in my opinion is quite expensive. It's disappointing it's not automatically included for guests or offered at a substantially reduced price. Also on some days unfortunately our room was not cleaned quite as thoroughly as on our previous stay. Also even though they offer a pillow menu, we still found some of the pillows were not particularly comfortable to sleep with.
Not my idea of 5 star
I stayed at the hotel in October, looking forward to a luxury short break but was a bit disappointed. The staff were all lovely and the evening entertainment was really good, but I felt that the hotel did not quite meet the standards I would expect of a 5 star hotel. The bathroom was lovely and large, but a few minor things put me off. The toilet seat was loose and the shower tray seemed to have a dip in it. We didn't feel the need to mention during our stay but did leave comments behind. The TV in the room was small in comparison to the size of the room and no coffee or tea were included in the room, something I would expect in a 5 star hotel. We had an upgrade to half board so we're able to use the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We arrived in time for dinner, but found on arrival to the restaurant that there was no one to greet us or even check our room number as you would normally expect. We seated ourselves and we were offered drinks but no explanation as to what drinks were included in half board- surprisingly we found out the next night that none were included and we had to pay for soft and alcoholic drinks. We also found that a lot of the buffet food at dinner and breakfast were not labelled, so you had to guess or just leave it. Again I will say the staff were great but all in all I did not feel I'd stayed in a 5 star hotel in Ibiza, and sadly would not recommend or return to the Insotel.
4th Visit and Still Enjoying Hotel and Area
4th Visit and Still Enjoying Hotel and Area This is our fourth visit to the Insotel Fencia still enjoying our time spent at the hotel and surrounding area, the hotel is situated at the end of a no through road which gives you no passing traffic and short walk to the promenade via beautiful paved pathway along the river and footbridge all traffic free. It’s always a very pleasant experience arriving at the hotel as its visually stunning to look at, once inside again you are not disappointed as it is clean fresh and bright, checking in is dealt with in a very friendly and efficient manner, luggage is taken to your room if it is available or taken up once it is available whilst you get on with relaxing, all the staff we have come into contact with have all worked as a team been without exception very friendly and helpful, we have never had a problem with our rooms, bedding, towels, products, cleaning has all ways been 100%, Breakfast and Evening meals are buffet style with plenty of choice with the option of eating in or outdoors, drinks and food around the pool area are all reasonably priced, never had a problem getting a sun lounger always seen to be plenty available. Santa Eulalia is definitely a safe family resort catering for all, the area itself offers a beautiful walk along the promenade with plenty of restaurants and bars (no karaoke or loud music) which is totally pedestrianised all the way down to the marina, the centre of Santa Eulalia has a very nice feel to it and there is ample to explore on restaurant street (nicknamed) and adjacent streets.
Excellent hotel, good service, with a smile!
An excellent hotel for a short stay. Very nice pool, spa and gym. The beach and boulevard with plenty of shops and restaurants were only 5 minutes walking. The people at te front desk -José and Maria- were very very nice and helpfull. We had a car, so we could see some more of Ibiza. I hope to come back some day!
Comfort and style
We had a 5 day break in late October and booked a junior prestige suite. The foyer was spacious, airy and well furnished, with friendly reception staff. We had arrived early and were given a complimentary glass of cava whilst we awaited check in time and had lunch in the lovely pool bar, serving full meals and excellent tapas. Our top floor room had a huge bed and spacious bathroom, with a whirlpool bath and good-sized shower, along with double sinks. Upstairs was our terrace with jacuzzi and sunbeds. The jacuzzi isn't covered and, when it's not as hot as the summer months, you need to ask for the temperature to be turned up and the tub to be cleaned out, especially after wet and windy weather, this is done at a time to suit you. We still found the jacuzzi a bit too cold though. The restaurant served a good range of food at both breakfast and dinner, with plenty of choice, as is often the case though, it would be good to have vegetarian dishes labelled, some dishes weren't and it wasn't easy to determine what was and wasn't. The foyer bar offered cocktails and a decent gin menu, with excellent service from all the staff, entertainment was offered until 1030 in the evening, with a pleasant range of acts. It would have been nice to have a heated pool, as the pool area is impressive, with cabanas, lovely large wicker covered seats, with cushions supplied. The pool is large with built in jacuzzis and massage jets, but it was just too cold to use. There's an excellent spa area, with various rooms and an indoor pool, the spa treatments are highly recommended. We'll definitely be back at a warmer time to enjoy all the hotel's excellent facilities.
