Colonial charm in a colourful city
So this is probably the best hotel option in the city as far as I am aware but I feel that a little bit more investment could go a long way to improve the facilities. Its a great location in the part of the city that is famous for its street art and so walking around is easy to do although it is very much up and down hill :-) The hotel is a conversion of an old mansion so its a bit quirky with lifts and stairs to get around. Various room sizes available and we went for the one above the basic room which was small but did have a small balcony but it was still quite cold to sit out on said balcony and tbh it could have done with a good jet wash to clean it along with washing the covers on the chairs so you could sit down on clean seats. We did get moved to a larger room when we told out agent that across the road from the hotel 2 buildings were being refurbished so there was a bit of noise when in an open space. The hotel has a nice pool area although the Pacific breeze did make the pool a bit chilly for my liking, however the most disapointing thing is the view as you are looking directly at a very busy working port with lots of cranes and container ships docking 24/7. Its a real shame but there is nothing that you can do about it so be aware. Also be aware that the restaurant is not actually part of the hotel as its a separate company and we had a meal the first night but werent impressed and there are better options outside the hotel. But the highlight of this hotel was the staff who were so friendly and helpful and really made the stay more enjoyable and as we were stopping for 4 nights (which in hindsight was unusual) they did make a fuss of us. We just feel that it just needs those finishing touches and it would be a 5 star rating.
Great Spot to start our Valparaíso visit
Casa Higueras was our first stop in Chile. We were greeted by a warm and friendly staff member who made sure our room #3 was to our liking and that we knew how everything worked. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful corner terrace overlooking the port in the distance. The front desk manager was super helpful with restaurant recommendations. The morning breakfast buffet was perfect. Perfect location to explore the neighborhoods.
Lovely boutique hotel
This is a very well located hotel at the end of a residential style street. Excellent views from rooms, common areas, restaurant and pool. Helpful staff. Accommodation is spacious, quiet, clean and well equipped. Restaurant provides excellent meals and service. A most comfortable and enjoyable 3 night stay.
Little neighborhood gem
Small boutique hotel on a quiet street in Valparaíso. This hotel had been a home built one hundred years or so ago. It’s been a hotel for awhile. The original floors and quirky layout add to its charm. Lovely patio dining area offering views of the harbour. Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had a very enjoyable stay here. Highly recommended.
Beautiful Respite from the lively Valparaiso scene
A superb small hotel jutting out into the Chilean sky above Valparaiso's bustling port. Quiet, relaxing, with impressive amenities. We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace overlooking the city on our last night, enjoying excellent cuisine and impressive wines. Hoping to revisit the city and hotel in the future.
