A home away from home.
The team at Casa Bueras go out of their way to ensure you feel that this hotel is your home. And we did ! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Moises and his colleagues on the front desk provided excellent information and recommendations whilst the team in the the cosy restaurant / dining room were always very helpful and professional. It was a relaxed place for breakfast and afternoon tea ( both included in our room tariff ) and dinner. As well as inside seating, there are tables and a lounge outside, overlooking the pool and garden. Our suite on the first floor was quiet and well appointed and airy, with high ceilings and a super comfortable bed. The only slightly adverse comment is that the parquet floor, which looked great, squeaked a lot when walking on it. ( though that kind of added to the homey feel !). The garden and pool area is shady and cool - a very relaxing place to chill and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and sightseeing. We loved the Lastarria Barrio. Opposite the park and only a few blocks to the San Cristóbal funicular, it is a vibrant and interesting area with loads of great cafes and restaurants and whilst a few blocks away from some of the current protest areas, we were not affected and felt safe during our stay. We would certainly stay at Casa Beuras next time we visit Santiago.
As stated by other reviewers this hotel is close to the Plaza Baquedano where there are protestors and their graffiti, despite this at no stage did our family of 4 adults feel unsafe. The staff went out of there way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. When a tour company we had organised a whole day tour with cancelled our tour the night before we were due to travel, the reception gave us lots of tips of things to visit so we did not waste our day. The breakfast is plentiful, fresh and had lots of choices. We hope that the protests do not put people off visiting this lovely hotel as the staff and their service are better than any we have received elsewhere.
Quaint boutique hotel
Normally a very good location, other than at the moment a couple blocks away from the occasional protest gatherings. Apart from that, the front desk staff tried their best and were helpful, and our room was comfortable and clean. Peaceful backyard with pool, which can be seen from the breakfast room, which was satisfactory. Overall a quaint small hotel for a nice stay.
What can I say that would accurately express the amazingness of this hotel. It’s downtown so the revolution in outside your doors but the hotel is an oasis of beauty and comfort. Have a glass of wine by the pool, luxuriate in the comfy bed or try the really great restaurants around the hotel. The staff is top notch, dare say better than a 5 star hotel.
Great boutique hotel within walking distance of key city sites and great restaurants.
We had a great stay at this boutique hotel. The room was large and well appointed and came with a bottle of water every day. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda overlooking the pool and having wine and some snacks--very peaceful. The staff was very helpful in terms of finding restaurants (which I later noted were starred properties in Time Out). One day we walked to all of the central sites in the City from the hotel. I would highly recommend the hotel. The hotel is within blocks of what remained from the protests. We did not notice any appreciable effect on the hotel (other than the graffiti which is everywhere). Indeed, we walked over to the protest and took pictures.
