Business hotel but good for tourists!
We are ardent fans of the Accor hotel group's Fairmont line. So when planning our trip to Chile we went with Accor's Pullman line. VERY happy we did, staying at the El Bosque. The location is excellent, the room was PERFECT to our needs (and the bed was a great night's sleep!). The staff could not have been more helpful to our needs while we were in Santiago. We were especially happy that they were so accommodating when we had to cut our stay short by a day because of the increasing Covid-panic in the States. There was only one significant problem that prevented me from giving a five-star review. When planning the trip, I tried to contact the hotel with some questions. I tried through the email listed on the Accor website, through Facebook, and through Twitter and NEVER got a response. I finally was able to get an email address from the concierge at a Fairmont hotel we had recently stayed with and got a response. The first person to respond seemed genuinely helpful but the second person to respond essentially gave a boilerplate response that "we appreciate your feedback and will make the changes necessary." It was a completely bogus response that was obviously a cut-and-paste response. Based on the experience we had in Santiago, we'll try Pullmans again. But this lack of response is not something I would EVER expect from one of Accor's premium hotel lines.
Enjoyed the hotel, the room and the location. We stayed three nights and had good service. We enjoyed the offerings at the breakfast buffet. We ate in the dinning room and enjoyed that. It was very handy to the big shopping mall and to a wide avenue with lots of sculptures. Local Chilean restaurants were close at hand as well. The WiFi kept disconnecting but was strong in the lobby. We felt safe in the neighborhood. Doormen were always Johnny on the spot. The clerks always understood English.
Good location in a nice area of Santiago. The property is modern and very clean. The breakfast buffet is very nice with lots of variety. We had dinner there two nights as part of our tour. The food was nicely presented and plentiful. The rooms are large enough and amenities are nice. There is a huge shopping mall close and lots of places to eat within walking distance.
This was a business trip and the room was very large but a bit sparce with amenities, no coffee or tea making available. The bed was very comfy and the shower was extremely hot with great water pressure. Staff were very pleasant. The restaurant menu was limited if you don’t eat seafood.. I would 70% of the offering had seafood in it. The area is a 10 minute walk to the famous mall if your into that. I had some great views from room and the 18th floor where the Gym and pool is. Will be staying there again in 3 weeks.
Unfriendly, Unhelpful and rude
The hotel was spotlessly clean the breakfast was plentiful however the staff from reception to doormen to waiting staff - rude unfriendly and unhelpful. No one smiles. Do not recommend. The pool is pleasant although no outside light can get in the rough the heavily covered ceiling. The gym is sparse but adequate. The location is ok but very intimidating walking though groups on street corners near the hotel.
