Quiet property, full of character just a short walk into town centre
Lovely hotel situated just off the main street of San Pedro, a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the town itself with its many bars, restaurants and a whole host of travel agents! The hotel is set on a single floor with lots of chalet style accomodation. There is a pool, restaurant and bar inside and one by the pool. Breakfast is a lovely buffet, with lunch and dinner served in the same area. There is a real fire outside for those wishing to dine or drink al fresco. All in all a very pleasant hotel, I would suggest one of the better ones from what we have seen. One last point, Lockdown happened on our last day and the pool was closed as was the restaurant and massage area, staff donned face masks but all went well. Breakfast became , on request instead of self service. Staff did their best to keep us happy in these trying times and it worked ... thank you to a great team.
Will never stay here again
I had booked to stay in Casa Atacama for three nights in March 2020. The President of Chile then asked all non citizens to leave the country. I called the hotel to cancel and they said given the exceptional circumstances that we would not have to pay any money. When I returned home they had charged me more than the original booking. I tried to contact them but they then ignored my emails and calls. Appalling behavior in a global crisis. I am still trying to make contact with them as they have a moral obligation to honour the commitment they made to me when they first indicated that they would not charge me for the room due to the late cancellation as it was a national disaster and a decision imposed by the President of Chile. I am still waiting.
Quiet spot in a busy town
After a long day out of doors, it was nice spot to relax and unwind. The staff was terrific and extremely helpful. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. My only complaint - without AC, the rooms get pretty warm during the day. We had to have the window open at night and the noise of the constantly barking dogs of San Pedro made sleeping a challenge some nights.
An oasis in the desert
This hotel is an oasis in the middle of the desert. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the center of town. It’s unassuming from the outside but when you step inside it is absolutely gorgeous! The rooms are MASSIVE and have a great shower, a little outdoor area, and all the amenities you’ll need. The food is A+ (breakfast and dinner). Beyond that, the staff is absolutely incredible. Special shoutout to Carlos and Angelo who really made our stay extra special and helped us find restaurants to eat at and tours to take while we were there. Pool area has a little hot tub and a sauna/steam room. Not too many chairs but it was still great to have on the hot days. Hope to come back here one day!
The accommodation was beautiful with an outer seating area which made it look enormous. We were ‘full board’ which we discovered meant alcohol included! Staff were attentive and helpful and the included excursions, run by the hotel, were interesting and enjoyable. The guide and his driver served lunch in a deserted spot, even cooking on a small gas stove and provided wine and olives etc. Not just a plain sandwich which we had been expecting! The guide Francisco spoke excellent English and was very informative. Staff in the hotel both in reception and the restaurant were pleasant and always willing to assist.
