A charming guesthouse in the Lake District countryside.
TEST TEST Seclusion, personalised service and a pretty epic location are just a few reasons why this luxury guest house is one of the best kept secrets in the Chilean Lake District. With just four suites and a maximum of eleven guests at any one time, you’ll be forgiven for thinking you have this little piece of paradise exclusively to yourself. The adventure starts on arrival as you are welcomed with a cocktail and a discussion about the activities and tours that you wish to take part in during your stay – it’s all completely tailored to your interests and the majority of adventures are operated on a private basis (some activities need to be booked in advance and are subject to an extra charge).
The menu is as personalised as the service, with local produce as the primary focus. The day begins with a breakfast that consists of fresh pastries, bread and fruit, and free-range eggs cooked to your requirements. For those on full day activities lunch will take the form of a gourmet picnic, while for those relaxing at the casa, it will be served in the dining room. At the end of the day there’s a new three-course menu that takes into account the tastes and preferences of the guests and the seasonal availability of the ingredients. And of course, each meal is complemented by the finest Chilean wines.
Each of the four suites is named after native birds that can be witnessed locally – Chucao, Bandurria, Picaflor and Loica. They feature all the mod-cons you would expect from a luxury property including Wi-Fi and flat-screen televisions. You may be on the edge of the Patagonian wilderness but there’s no need to forego those necessities of modern life!
A short stroll from the edge of Chile’s Lake Llanquihue, a 15-minute drive from the centre of Puerto Varas
