Planned this to be the end of our two week Patagonia trip so we could be “indulged” a little bit and we could take some time to just enjoy the hotel ammenities. We were delighted with our room (only wish we had two chairs instead of one). Each of the 40 rooms has a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. The staff were all friendly and the guides knew much more information beyond just the trail points. I was impressed. The pool and spa were a hikers delight! Horseback riding was amazing. We did two full day hikes, 2 half day hikes and 2 half day trips on our own. We left the last half day free to enjoy the pool. Food was amazing.
Beautiful one of a kind hotel
Absolutely stunning hotel and experience. My husband and I brought our 3 month old son and stayed for four nights. They took such care to make sure we had everything we needed, including our own van and guide for all excursions so we could take extra time with our son when needed. Our son even had tiny slippers and a bathrobe waiting in our room. We lucked out with beautiful weather, and our guides were very informative, friendly and helpful. Views from the room are incredible, and I can’t imagine there is a bad room. Two areas for improvement/suggestions in our opinions... the food was underwhelming for the cost of the hotel. Especially after leaving TP and going to another Tierra property which exceeded our food expectations. We expected to have extremely delicious meals, and while the food wasn’t bad, we expected much better. We also feel that the grey glacier boat fee should just be included in the hotel cost. It was a great experience and tour, with a $100ish upcharge per person. We understand that cost goes directly to the boat company, but since it’s a recommended tour and such a small fee in comparison to what we paid for the hotel, it seems a little tactless to not just assume most guests will do it and include in our rate.
A Unique and Wonderful Hotel
The Tierra Patagonia Hotel is situated in full view of the magnificent Torres del Paine mountains and adjacent to the National Park. Wake up to the stunning view from your hotel room of the sunrise displayed on the mountains. My wife and I spent 3 nights here in February 2020 as part of our tour of Patagonia. Hiking, trekking, and horseback riding are some of the activities provided as part of your package and bring you closer to the beauty of the mountains and waterfalls. Upon arrival you are greeted warmly by a very pleasant cortege of staff, and the guides that lead you on your activities are pleasant, helpful, and informative. The on site spa offers a very good massage at reasonable rates. I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Torres del Paine.
Phenomenal property and staff coupled with hikers paradise
We had the good fortune to experience this phenomenal property. It is the only property on one of the largest lakes in the park which provides a beautiful landscape in front of the Torres del Paine mountain range. If you are lucky to have clear and no wind weather make the effort to be present at every sunrise and sunset. The modern architecture of the hotel emphasizes immersion with nature and the expansive views offered from your room or dining room cannot be compared. While this property is double the size from our Tierra Chiloe stay, the service philosophy of the hotel is still maintained. Every gastronomic, activity, and room requirement wish is fulfilled. As this property was a compromise to hiking/camping the “W’ or the “O” – I am so grateful that we were able to complete the major 3 components of the trek. They were very long days but the hikes were made fun and safe and of course incredibly beautiful. Our guides were amazing! Not only do they carry every piece of 1st aid equipment (including defibrillators, LAM devices) but also hot soup, coffee, and chocolate to boost weary hikers. In addition to safety, guides share their abundant knowledge about flora, fauna, weather, and geology. No activity of course would be complete without a group celebration at the van with a cooler filled with beer, sodas, etc, and snacks (sweet, savory, healthy) complete with tablecloth and fold out table! The kitchen and dining room deserve equal accolades. Even when we departed at 0700 for our hike, we were still able to enjoy a full breakfast buffet (who offers dessert at breakfast?? – tried tiny bites as I could not resist), made to order eggs, and cappuccino. Lunch and dinner are 3 courses with 3 choices for each category. When we arrived to Patagonia I was already 2 weeks into eating meat almost every meal – I needed something else and relished the amazing vegetarian options (even opted for a 2nd appetizer instead of dessert one night!). While every wait staff person was unique and special, I have to complement Nicholas who truly made every dining opportunity perfect! Give him a hug for me when you meet him. 😊 Since hotel bookings are all about the room it would be remiss for me to not mention them. The complex is 2 stories built into a hillside. Every room has a view. Beds and pillows were always comfortable. The bathrooms were amazing -from 2 sinks, huge rain showers, and the important soaking bathtub. Housekeeping were like fairies and somehow always kept our room made up and clean with fresh towels, fresh bottled water, nightly pillow chocolates, and fun fact cards about the area. We found that closing the outer door to a set of two rooms kept late night guest noise in the hallway out. This property along with Tierra Chiloe should be rated at 10 stars. Even though the cost of each night would make one expect excellence, I happily admit my expectations were surpassed!! This combined with a lovely mix of guests from around the world made for a perfect vacation with new found friends.
Yet another glowing review ...
Hard to add anything to the already glowing reviews on Tripadvisor. Outstanding hotel with unique setting, great service, good food. Can't think of a better place to visit the Torres del Paine park. You get it. Just go.
