Magical way to experience the Kruger Park
Narina Lodge in the Kruger Park has a unique location that provides for incredible sightings and is located on a truly magical setting on the Sabie River. This unique location allowed us the chance to drive through some of the best game viewing areas of the Kruger Park. What made this trip truly special was the expert guiding of Johan and Manny. Johan's love of the area and his knowledge and fun stories added to the incredible sightings we had. Johan and Manny provided for many entertaining and informative stories between animal sightings. Our extended bush walk was a very special experience that Johan helped arrange. In addition to the incredible guiding the service at Narina was super. Sue, the Camp manager, was always visible and available to ensure every request was handled flawlessly and ensures the experience is just perfect. Abel managed all our meals and his service was very friendly and efficient. All the great service makes it easy to really enjoy the beautiful setting. The view from the main lodge area and rooms are truly special and the large patio, soaking tub, bedroom, and indoor and outdoor shower overlooking the Sabie River is idyllic. This location is uniquely special as it provides for some of the best game viewing in the Kruger Park where you have a chance to see special up close sightings of leopards, lions, and so much more... and also large herds of elephants, buffalos and so many other varieties of animals. The combination of seeing unique sightings and large herds makes this lodge special. Narina is ideal for anyone looking to experience incredible animal sightings, with a beautiful and unique location with wonderful guiding .
Best luxury safari I’ve been too
Visited before COVID, but Tripadvisor doesn’t go back that far. Loved everything about this magical safari, it’s truly beautiful, staff are wonderful and the animals are on view. We saw everything we would have hoped and enjoyed elephants drinking daily by the river bed below. The rooms are gorgeous, the food was amazing. Completely 5* service. Can’t wait to go back on day.
Amazing trip at Lion Sand Narina
Where do I start… from the moment when landed in Skukura we were greeted by Ryno our guide and Sam our tracker. They drove us to the lodge and we entered the Kruger National Park and immediately started seeing the wildlife. We spent 4 nights at the lodge. We were greeted by Sue the camp manager and Noxie with fresh and wonderful smelling towels. Every morning you get an early wake up call to meet in the lobby to go for the 1st bush ride of the day which last approximately 2-3 hours. It’s like you’re going on a treasure hunt. Ryno our guide was the best and had so much love and passion for his job..Sam sits in the front to look for fresh tracks and dung. And then..wow the animals they find are amazing. We saw all Big 5 plus many many many more!! Thank you Ryno and Sam for a trip we will not forget and will forever talk about!! The room at the lodge are amazing as well. Very roomy and all the comforts from home. The bath tub has a huge window which if you’re lucky you’ll see elephants, antelopes, monkeys and maybe even a leopard. We did a night in the tree house which is a must..unfortunately we had to leave it as the rain came down, but if you can book it do it!! Stella our butler was very attentive and knew we loved to have some Amarula (tastes similar to Baily’s) in our coffee and was always there for us. Afternoon bush rides are after afternoon tea with snacks and ice coffee or tea. We had a wonderful massage with Noxie and Furthy in a hut which has A/C in it and was overlooking the bush outside and both girls were great!! Thank you to Leonard for walking us back to our room making sure we were safe from any leopards hiding in the trees. Again thank you to all the wonderful and sweet staff at the Lion Sands Narina lodge..not good bye but until we see you again
We had a phenomenal experience at Narina Lodge. The game drives were outstanding with lots of opportunities to go off road in pursuit of special sitings. We saw all of the African safari animals in beautiful settings, and had the privilege of viewing a pack of critically endangered wild dogs with 18 puppies. Absolutely amazing! Our guide took us on two bush walks that were quite exciting, and on our last evening arranged for an extra special sundowner event in the bush. The rooms were spacious with a Colonial charm, and the public spaces were terrific for relaxing in between drives. Elephants, monkeys, antelope, etc. roam the property. Special thanks to our guide Joe and tracker Quolani, our very attendant butler Roman, and the always smiling bartender Becky. Lodge manager Sue oversaw every detail and ensured a perfect stay. Noxie gave wondrous massages! A night in the treehouse listening to the river, bird song, animals in the night, and star watching was an extra special experience. Thanks also to Liesl Bisschoff of the More Concierge Team for arranging all of the details of the trip. From the moment we landed in Johannesburg, until we were delivered back to the airport for our flight home, every detail was attended to. All we had to do was relax and enjoy! Pro tip: Right now the Johannesburg airport offers very little food - most food shops are closed due to the pandemic. If you have a long wait for a flight out, you might ask the lodge to pack a meal for you!
Kruger Big 5 Visit Narina Sands
we had the most amazing 3 nights at Narina Sands, Kruger National Park. Saw the Big 5 in 1 day. The experience was out of this world. From the tracker, guide, waiter, house keeper and all the other staff, they were very friendly, polite, courteous and welcoming, this created a memorable stay. The food was excellent. We definitely will be back.
