Totally blissful experience.
We had such an amazing 4 night stay at Kapama Southern Camp. Nothing could disappoint. Sam from the restaurant was amazing with his friendly service, always has a smile on his face. Our ranger and tracker, Richard and Eleck was very informative as they have answered all our questions we had. They gave us so much insight with regards to the wildlife on Kapama reserve and wildlife in general. Kapama will never disappoint, thank you!
We spent 3 glorious days at Kapama Southern Camp and it was absolutely heavenly!! we booked the luxury family villa, great decision! the villa is spacious and luxurious too. it has it's own private pool and deck which makes relaxing in private so enjoyable. the food was amazing and totally delicious!! The chef, the waitress and manger at the dining area were so accommodating and always ensured our dietary requirements were met, big plus for our halaal diet!! Precint our aid at the dining area was superb! The game drives were great too, with our family having exclusive use of the vehicle, big plus! Richard our driver was the most informative driver we ever had on safari and the kids were well educated about the bush after each drive, Richard is really a star! then our amazing trekker, Sieven who spotted a leopard TWICE in the thickest of bushes!!! Highly recommend Kapama!!!
My only very small critique is to offer longer staying guests more variety in meals. But the food was spectacular anyway! Our ranger Njabulo and spotter Oris were both excellent. Jabu’s knowledge is really impressive. We learnt a lot from him. The staff in the restaurant were also efficient and keen to please. Special mention here to Sholly. We will be back - a third time!
I went to Kapama beginning of September 2020 and it was totally underwhelming. I was expecting to be blown away but instead felt disappointed. Seems like we got a discounted price for a discounted experience. We were under the impression this was a 5* star experience but far from it. The towels were like sand paper and fraying at the edges, the door was weather damaged, no room service, i repeat NO ROOM service for 5* place. The excuse was Covid which is a poor cop-out (Mr Delivery is basically like room service). Perhaps the other camps are 5* with facilities to follow but not the Southern Camp. We tried to complain to the booking agent but no resolve. We were lucky we had great animal sightings and our game driver made up for the experience slightly.
OVERWELMING IN THE BUSH AND FOOD.
Your front office staff where booked out, should be more professional. The lady who cleaned room 113, should undergo a professional training how to be humble and friendly with people she never met. She should be properly supervised on how to clean an apartment. Please allow RSA citizens a discounted price as you now rely on them to visit KAPAMA due to the COVID international restrictions. We are always here for you and our money is just as good, however we cannot afford what Europe and America can. It is understood that you accommodate them first, we will have the left overs, but with an affordable price. If possible, please?
