Fantastic Oyster Box Hotel
My wife and myself recently stayed at the Oyster Box, room 11. We had a fantastic experience. The staff were all extremely pleasant, always smiling and courteous. Particularly the following staff members; Sereesha at reception, Siyabonga Dlamini and Jeffery, both waiters. We would and will recommend your hotel to all our friends and family. Thank you for treating us like we were special.
I'm most likely to recommend OBH to my friends and family, which is because of the service rendered by Brian. He delivered world class service & represented the company well👌keep up the good work. Much appreciated 💯
Amazing stay, escape from reality amidst level 2 and the worlds longest lockdown
I checked into the oyster box because where else would a girl go to find the beach alongside her as she sleeps and as she rises and to just relax against.in these crazy times I needed a few days of escape from covid 19 reality and checking into the oyster box was well worth every penny!the warmest welcome under the sun from a Justin and team who had deck chairs and umbrellas waiting for my folks and I on the beach where we spent the afternoon sipping tea and having snacks! What luxury! Then followed by the most amazing dinners, a Super luxurious cinema with a private screening of a movie of our choice And some family joined in for dessert and the movie. The most stringent hygiene protocolswith the best service from every staff member from breakfast to dinners and even popcorn and smarties at the movies, I just wish I stayed longer. Thanks to Ryan at breakfast, chef Kevin Joseph, noks and team for Waiting on us at dinner And every staff member who greeted, smiled and exhibited the most heartfelt welcome to my family and I. We felt so very special. We will be back for sure with the Irish half soon. As a Durban born girl now living in Jhb I am very proud to know the Hospitality light shines the brightEst at the oyster box In Dbn
Flight to Quality: Red Carnation will thrive post COVID
I spent my second stay at this hotel and third in a Red Carnation. The staff and atmosphere were fantastic despite challenges such as the 10pm curfew. The hotel is being so much more hospitable compared to the clinical international chains in South Africa, some of which have been morphed into even more of a hospital atmosphere this year. Red Carnation has always had impeccable hygiene that other hotels are only attempting now. For example sanitisation of the television remote controls was already being done during my last visit to the Oyster Box in 2015. If many people do think twice before traveling far for the next few years until there is a complete recovery in travel traffic; if they do travel they will insist on quality and passionate warm hospitality which is what you get at The Oyster Box and Milestone which are the two Red Carnation hotels that I have stayed at so far. I'm sure the others are the same and I will always stay at one if there is one in the city I am travelling to. Congratulations to Beatrice Tollman and family. Your fantastic hospitality is carried through your staff, food, decor and atmosphere, and is a welcome light during these dark locked down times. The Oyster Box and I'm sure your other hotels are already coming back stronger than ever as 2020 is long forgotten.
Faultless Old School Elegance
The OB is great, great, great... My wife and I will be back whenever there's something that needs celebrating... Do yourself a favour and book a sea view room! One piece of advice: Ignore the 4th Sept 2020 sjrubinek review. We watched the situation evolve over 2 days and were totally impressed at the professionalism and restraint of the OB staff as they tried to contain a loose cannon who had absolutely zero consideration for anyone else...
