Changed my accomodation plans especially to stay here... it did not dissapoint
Well... what a way to start our honeymoon. My husband and I immediately so impressed from the moment we stepped into the hotel for our two night stay. Out of the city centre with views out to the sea and lovely promenade to watch the dog walkers runners and skaters. Gorgeous decor just to our taste. Beautifully welcoming, clean and modern but in a boutique style. We loved the room we were given and the amazing floral display down to the courtyard outside the rooms. Beautiful stand alone bath, lovely shower, lovely decor and what looked to be a lovely bed. We had an issue with the wifi so called down to reception. Two minutes later a porter came with new keys, moved our bags to another room. To my astonishment he brought to an even more STUNNING room! I'm assuming a suite with a window seat and balcony. A living room area as well as a bottle of bubbly and gorgeous homemade petit fours. Heavenly! The shower powerful and perfect temperature, bath also perfect and all toiletries luxurious unlike in many hotels. Bed extremely comfortable. Room very quiet and turndown such a lovely touch and not always provided. Breakfast idyllic in the courtyard! Our only complaint and not the fault of the hotel but our travel agents was that cooked breakfast was an extra charge. The fruit ( soaked in wine) oh my GOODNESS! Incredible. Honestly some of the best breakfast i've ever had! Dinner- modern restaurant with lovely touch of the flame heaters. A romantic intimate and quiet meal. Candice- our waitress... stunning woman. Service perfect, lots of recommendations of places we MUST visit. Table mountain, kirstenbosch botanical among others did not disappoint. Not only is this woman a great waitress she's a joy and i enjoyed our conversation so much she made me cry (happily!!) I think that will be a first and last that's just how amazing our experience was and the staff there! The second night restaurant much busier but still great service and atmosphere. The food... superb too! Gorgeous tender steak, lovely tapas type starters. It was all brilliant. Amazing to dander across the road and stand right next to the hop on hop off bus service which is so much cheaper than in Europe and an amazing journey. We didn't get a chance to try the pool so can't comment on that. We cannot thank the staff enough, what a beautiful place we will never forget!
We stayed 5 nights and my family of 3 loved staying at this hotel. Upon check in, staff was friendly and attentive. The courtyard is beautiful and inviting. The rooms were clean and bed and pillows very comfortable which means a great nights sleep. Breakfast each morning was wonderful with an excellent buffet and a hot, made to order menu available. We had a room with a sea view, which we loved, but some might find the street noise too much. We loved watching the sunset from the restaurant too. So glad we booked this hotel and will book again in the future!
My wife and I stayed here for 5 days in January. We loved this hotel. The service was spot on, super friendly, professional and respectful. It's actually pretty hard to get that combination right. We loved our suite overlooking the sea and thought the food was top notch. The vibrant courtyard is clearly popular with locals and I could see why, it's just lovely! Visit it to stay, or for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You'll enjoy it.
Beautifully refurbished with views looking into the sunset
I returned to this hotel after 10 years. t has undergone a major refurbishment but retained it heritage and charm. Located on the seafront opposite the ocean it enjoys beautiful sunsets and the terrace provides a nice seating area to enjoy breakfast watching all the early morning activity of walkers runners etc, I had a loft room which was both spacious and quirky. I dined in the Shoreditch restaurant but was not impressed by the food. The hotel is about 10 minutes in a cab from the centre or Waterfront where there is a good choice of restaurants. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful in particular Nelise at reception and the legendary Goodwill who was there on my previous visits. A really nice place to stay and I hope to return.
Amazing setting, great service and definitely the place to be when you want to chill and watch the world go by. Go early and sit on the veranda. The paragliding landing zone is directly opposite. The courtyard also has a great vibe and is very popular.
