The most unique hotel in Cape Town
There are a number of hotels in Cape Town, but none as unique and luxurious as the Silo Hotel. The decor, art, room finishes, high ceilings, windows (yes, windows!), views of Cape Town, staff and location make the Silo as memorable and unique a hotel as you’ll find anywhere in the world. It truly is world class and the ultimate luxury when it comes to hotels. If you can, book one of their suites (or ask nicely and you might get luck with a room upgrade) so that you can truly experience all the luxuries this hotel as to offer.
Incredible Hotel on the waterfront of Cape town
We were lucky to be upgraded , so that our Son had his own bedroom. It was really luxury! The room is double storey and you feel like a celebrity. They also have a rooftop bar which has 360 degrees views of the magic of cape town. The only small problem was, that we came home late one evening and the main door was locked with no concierge in sight. This needs to be looked into.
Silos full of friendliness and comfort
Ok, of course one can and should write extensively about the hotel architecture, built inside and on top of a previously used grain silo, luxuriously decorated interiors, high quality linen and amenities, superb breakfast and of course the superlative views of Cape Town from the rooms and 11th floor open air terrace. Can there be a nicer experience than opening your room sliding door on a Cape Town morning and invite the sights and sounds of the ocean and city into your room? Yes, there is - experience the people who work here. A warm front door lobby greeting after a day's outing, room cleaning staff engaging in a friendly chat in passing, the breakfast room team's energy and hospitality that sets up the day and the 11th floor terrace team who make scenic sundowners even better. Irene, Hoon and the rest of the team based on the 6th floor reception area are particularly special. I am not sure I can do justice trying to describe all of it so let me say that the people in the Silo ranks with the very best we have encountered in 5 star and boutique hotels around the world. The grain that previously filled those huge imposing silos were certainly replaced by silos full of friendliness and comfort.
Amazing boutique hotel in Cape Town
Spent a couple of days over Christmas 2020 at The Silo - and was exceptionally pleased with the experience. Firstly, the building, located just by the waterfront, has a unique industrial background, coupled with an truly amazing eclectic interior design with an African touch - a very charming combination. The rooms have extremely high ceilings and the windows run from floor to ceiling. The service was top-notch, as should be expected from a 5-star hotel, and food and spa was also very good. Especially appreciated the roof top pool and bar overlooking the entire city, probably the best view in Cape Town of the Table top Mountain and the city!
Friends had stayed here and raved about the hotel so I was desperate to try it out for myself. My husband did balk slightly at the room prices but was completely delighted when he saw our deluxe suite. The views are incredible, the design is incredible and it was a wonderful experience. We stayed three nights and enjoyed the restaurant one night for dinner and every morning for breakfast and as you would expect the food was excellent. We also enjoyed the cocktail bar. Apart from the glorious surroundings, including an amazing roof top pool, what struck us was that every member of the staff seemed to be very happy in their work and so motivated to give every guest the best experience. Just Brilliant. We will be back.
