A Busy, Touristy Area
Victoria & Albert Waterfront is a busy, touristy area. Besides the 'Big Wheel', it is home to lots of shops - indoors and outdoors - and an abundance of restaurants. It is also the Start/Finish point for lots of tours and the Ferry port for Robbin Island. The shops outdoors tend to be rather expensive so do go inside and check out the different prices. Also - stop at the Watershed for genuine ethnic goods.
From the arrival to the depature - everything was perfect! The rooms are huge (had a very nice view to the harbour), very clean and very peaceful and quiet! The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is outdtanding! We had a perfect stay, thanks
We love this hotel. It is just perfect! The staff are wonderful - helpful and friendly, the rooms - beautiful, the breakfast at Ochre - what a selection! (probaby one of the best we have had, anywhere in the world) It’s position is great - in the bustling V & A Waterfront but feels like a quiet haven when you are there. It has a magnificent pool. We try and visit each year on our wedding anniversary. It really is a treat. The view of beautiful Table Mountain is an added bonus from the balcony. The little cakes under a Bell jar in the room on arrival is a lovely touch. Choice of pillows, bottle of wine - wow!
SUPERB STAY AT ONE & ONLY CAPE TOWN
We love the One & Only brand so it was an automatic choice that we chose this hotel for our 5 night stay in Cape Town. From the moment we entered this superb hotel everything was perfect - friendly efficient staff and huge welcome. We had never been to Cape Town before so had no idea what you expect and we were overjoyed with the hotel location. We had chosen to stay on the island part of the hotel and would thoroughly recommend this - the suites are situated around a beautiful pool and then also the waterways that run all around. Although our days were packed full of sightseeing we ensured that we were able to enjoy as well time around the pool which is like an oasis Superb restaurants - Nobu, Ochra and Isola - all very different and equally as good as each other. We also had room service one night and had the best wagu burgers ever. If anything missing from menu choice would be fillet steaks from the Ochra menu ( available on room service menu) - we think though that had we pre- ordered these from Ochra we could have had them as nothing seemed too much trouble. Breakfasts at Ochra were excellent - open from 6.30 ( to cater for early morning tours) until 11 - beautiful buffet including sparkling wine as well as served food dishes such as eggs benedict etc. Special thanks to Carmen, always so happy and made perfect cappuccino - nice and hot . We sat on the outside terrace overlooking the island and waterways - beautiful start to the day Rooms are perfectly maintained and serviced Front desk staff amazing and extremely helpful and knowledgeable Hotel management superb - good to meet some key personnel at the managers drinks party with amazing canapés from Nobu 100% happy with our choice of Hotel and thank you to all the staff that made our stay excellent without fault
Great location, Warm staff & Lovely Accomodations
Delightful at every point, room was clean with a wonderful view of Table Mountain. Staff was warm & friendly. Breakfast buffet was great - anything you could possibly want. The location was great, walkable to a variety of different activities and a convenient cab ride away from others. Cape town is such a great city, can't wait to come back. Would stay here again.
