ANDERMATT-SEDRUN SKIARENA • SWITZERLAND

Sitting in the beautiful Ursern Valley, the traditional village Andermatt is an experienced skier’s heaven with steep runs and off-piste terrain.
This relatively small and traditional Central Switzerland ski resort is low key and relaxed, offering a range of steep and exhilarating pistes that include the renowned Bernhard Russi run, which is a favourite with expert skiers. The past few years have seen extensive development on the edge of the village, additions to the lift network linking Andermatt to the Sedrun ski area and kilometres worth of new ski runs. Those returning year after year will continue to see more expansion as more upscale hotels are planned.
The snow here is very reliable, the region being one of the best places in Switzerland for guaranteed snow, and deep snow at that. If you are looking for some fantastic off-peak, free riding or ski-touring action, you will not be disappointed due to the varied and challenging terrain and deep powder. Free riders are also well catered for here. If you are an experienced skier looking for something a little quieter than Switzerland’s livelier resorts, this is a great choice.
