As Europe’s highest ski resort at 2300m and perched at the top of the world’s biggest ski area, Val Thorens really is a hard one to beat.
This high altitude, purpose-built resort is popular for its ski-in/ski-out accommodation and snow-sure mountain. Skiers and boarders of all abilities are spoilt for choice, with varied terrain from long cruisy blue and red runs, to the challenging slopes off the Cime De Caron.
With a vast selection of bars and restaurants, suitable for all tastes and budgets, many guests return to Val Thorens every year to enjoy the vast ski area and the lively après scene. Val Thorens also has one of the best terrain parks in the area, with five zones for different abilities, a boarder cross and the famous Jump D’Air inflatable mattress. There is a wide range of leisure facilities and non-skiing activities in the resort, including the longest toboggan run in France and an ice driving circuit. And if you’re feeling really brave, try the world’s highest zip wire!
