Whistler was host mountain resort for the amazing Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. One look at this giant winter sports paradise and you’ll understand why.
The peaks here are vast and the skiing is serious. Whistler and Blackcomb mountains feature over 8,000 acres of terrain, with 16 alpine bowls, 3 glaciers, over 200 marked trails and the most slopeside accommodation of any North American resort. Both mountains provide a huge range of beginner, intermediate and advanced skiing and boarding, and combined with a massive average annual snowfall of over 38 feet, the holiday experience in North America's largest resort truly is hard to beat.
Whistler maintains the pace off the slopes too. It’s not so much a village as a small town with outstanding après-ski and dining options. Whistler has great shopping some of which can empty your wallet, melt your plastic and scare your bank manager, but Canada still offers superb value for money which is enough to tempt even the most frugal.
