5 Stars Service
All the staff were friendly, proactive and helpful. I was very surprised by how polite ALL the staff are. Haven't found any staff who didn't uphold a superb service standard. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates quality service.
Was supposed to be here for a christmas staycation but unfortunately hotel is being dedicated to government facilities. Ms Manju D/O Krishnamurthy emailed me of the unfortunate event and expect me to provide a new dates within 2 weeks, in order for my existing booking to be active & secured. I find this ridiculous. I asked for an extension of date instead of within 2 weeks to reply with the new dates but I wasn’t allow to do so. Anyway, I was offered a free night as a compensation of the cancellation. Another issue was, i think hotel village sentosa service could and should be better when handling guests. Asking a catering manager to handle guests is absolutely a wrong step. If your expertise is to handle catering, then maybe you should handle catering side instead of the reservation side. Ms Manju not just portray herself to be nonchalant about my unhappiness in my email, she also do not know how to please hotel guests. The way she replies emails was just hoping to get the work done. I wanted to feedback this issue to the hotel, unfortunately, after leaving the details on their website under contact me no one gotten back. Quite a disappointing and letdown when I haven’t even experience the stay. The service is so bad.
We are from new zealand. Beautiful, friendly, helpful and amazing staff ! We wer completely blown away with the service and so happy with our stay. When we first arrived we wer warmly greeted and our 3 year old boy and baby girl wer treated amazingly and wer instantly given toys and ice cream and the staff really made an effort to make them feel welcome. I have never stayed somewhere like this before, it was great ! The staff greeted my children every day remembering their names and my son insisted all the time that we go to lobby so he can play with the staff because ‘they are my friends’. Thank you so much for making our holiday so special and making my children jack and Penelope feel so welcomed !
Good hotel with a better view...
We booked 3 rooms for 3 families during the March school holidays (*before the Circuit Breaker kicked in). HOW TO REACH THERE You can drive there & park your vehicle at the basement car park. Parking charges apply & they are always full, so drive in early to get that spot. You can also take the Sentosa bus from Orchard Road or the bus interchange outside Seah Im Food Centre (*opp Vivo City). The bus stop in Sentosa will be the second stop after the main roundabout. Be very attentive when the bus goes in the island. If you're unsure, ask the bus driver. Monorail stop will be at Imbiah Station, but there will be a 10-min walk uphill to reach the hotel. If you got luggage, not a good time to walk. The monorail will be good if you have already checked-in as the hotel provides free monorail ride for hotel guests; up to 3 or 4 persons per room. CHECK-IN There was a long queue since it was the school holidays. But the hotel has 4 check-in counters & 1 check-out counter. This made checking in fast & all travellers were happy. I've never really seen a hotel operating up to 4 check-in desks. So well done Village Hotel. There were balloon sculpting station for kids, ice-cream station & popcorn station. All free for hotel guests! That made checking in more appealing & took out the stress out of the guests. There is also a deli "Supply Depot" for that hot beverage or sandwich. WAYFINDING Lifts were available at both ends of the building, depending on where you're heading to. Lift lobby on all floors have a vending machine selling many types of drinks. Beside the vending machine, there is a hot water dispenser & a drawer full of coffee, tea, sugar & creamer. Get your beverage supply here before heading to the room. Walking to the rooms can be tiring. The hotel has got really long walkways up to the rooms and were rather narrow, but we managed. ROOMS Rooms were adequate, not big not small. The view was facing Palawan & Siloso Beach; that is a good sea view thru our windows. Rooms have a kettle, 4 cups & a tall jug. Big TV, good bedsheets & pillows, AC, minibar & hairdryer all in good condition. Bathroom is small but enough to get thru. Highlight is the WC. Besides having an automatic bum rinser, it also boasts a heated seat. First time I had a warm seat in a hotel bathroom, heh! All in all, room facilities are top-notch. Oh & smoking is not allowed in the hotel area including the rooms. There is a smoking area out of the hotel about a minute walk. POOLS There were 4 pools each with its own speciality. No info on that here, keeping that surprise when you’re there. But yes, there’re for kids & adults. AROUND THE HOTEL There were many attractions around the hotel but they’re always a 10-mins walk or more. Basically, walk to Imbiah Monorail Station & make your way from there. A nearer option will be to wait for a bus at the stop outside the hotel. The hotel also provides shuttle service though it can be full at times. Frequency is every 30mins starting from 8am. Hotel to Vivocity; with a drop-off only in between at RWS Festive Hotel. F&B I must say we did not dine at the hotel, so I am unable to review that here. It felt good to walk outside & have your meals at other establishments around the island with a better view. STAFF & SECURITY Hotel staff are helpful & attentive. We had the most engagement with the front desk while checking in. That gave us an important first impression of the good stay ahead. I’ve not seen many of the security though, but I’m sure they were doing their job. Most times I can see them around the hotel at night making sure the hotel is well looked after. All in all, I’m happy with my stay as well as my in-laws family. The staff, facilities & freebies made the entire stay a wonderful experience to remember. Thank you Village Hotel!
ADEQUATE SERVICE BUT MAJOR SHORTFALL IN SOME AREAS
AS it was during the school holidays, we decided to try to stay here after much review and so called hype.Rooms were relatively small for a deluxe with King size bed. Whoever mans the telephone either as an operator or reception needs major training in social etiquette and efficiency. Upon getting to our room, the safe was not working properly so we called to ask for some help. No one came at all. A second call then led to a staff coming up to assist. The whole wait was about an hour plus until the second call was made. So I guess no sense of urgency. We left the room at 9am and when we returned at 4pm, room was still in a mess. After a couple of the staff push the blame here and then, a Housekeeper name Hong Yen came to our rescue. She is apparently only doing the lower floors. To this we were very appreciative of her help. I called the reception and informed them that the amenities have run out. To my dismay, The guy on the other end told me to go get it myself from the next lift lobby. Seriously? A 4-5 star hotel telling guests to walk to another lift lobby to get it? Should they at least suggest that they top it up for you? The pool bar staff Izan was exceptional in service. Manager Ms Angela helped us as well. These 3 staff saved our holiday whilst the rest left us wondering if we chose the right hotel
