Best staycation choice in Sentosa!
What a relaxing oasis in Sentosa! The colonial style building is extremely charming with a beautiful green lawn at the entrance. Its a gorgeous boutique hotel with a heritage spin and we loved the Premier Room with pool access. The outdoor patio leads you to a mini Jacuzzi and the pool. The stay was extremely enjoyably, good size and comfortable rooms, great bed, and most importantly superb service. Thanks to Jim and his team of attentive and warming staff! We also throughly enjoyed the canapes and drinks in the evening - especially the satay! Perfectly complemented with a glass of Prosecco or espresso martini. Breakfast was satisfying with generous portions - The prawn noodle broth took us by surprise. Definitely give it a try. We chose this hotel for our anniversary trip but its also perfect for families - the staff are really great to the kids and i assure u the kids will love the pool rooms. No doubt the best choice if you are looking for a staycation in Sentosa! Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.
Awesome staycation for the family
We stayed for two wonderful nights. The service here was really impeccable. Joel checked us in and it was such a breeze. We had the welcome drink in the reception and my daughter was given a Barracks bear. She absolutely loved it. Later on, we met Jim and Emily at the Living Room where Jim showered my daughter with snacks and ice cream, very much to her delight. The Living Room is also where you would have your afternoon refreshments and evening canapés. The evening canapés are really tasty and they change the menu throughout the week so you wouldn’t get the same menu two days in a row. Everything on the menu was really enjoyable and washed down nicely with Prosecco or any other drink you would like. There is an alcoholic version of the welcome drink, which is infused with their special blend of tea. The pool was where we spent most of our time, it was never crowded and we could spend lots of time lounging there (in a safe distancing way). No need to book a time slot and get chased out when the time runs out. It just doesn’t get crowded enough. And as I understand it, the hotel was sold out when we were there (they only sell up till 50% capacity). Our suite is on the first floor, so we had direct pool access and our own jacuzzi. Very convenient to take a dip and relax at our own lounge area. Breakfast was equally good. We had both the international and local selections. Both were nice. Really loved the nasi lemak and the prawn noodles. The sausages and the sautéed mushrooms were really good as well. All in, it was a very filling breakfast. It wasn’t easy to leave, but when it was time to leave, we left with great memories.
A Special place, quiet, peaceful and personal
Just had 4 nights here with the children (10&12) had a suite with the girls in a connecting room upstairs. Room and hotel are luxurious with exquisite finishings, space age Japanese massage toilets, lovely bathrooms and a private access to the pool. The hotel is small enough that the service feels really genuinely personalised and the afternoon tea and free cocktails are wonderful by the pool. Special shoutout to Elsa, Anne and Joel who where lovely and also the ever elegant lady who looked after us every day.
Wonderful Stay at the Barracks
We loved our staycation here. Beautiful ambience and wonderful service. Shah and his team went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. They were so lovely to our daughter and she really her holiday. We will be back. Thank you so much!
Lovely place to relax unless you have dietary restrictions
This is a beautiful old colonial building that has been beautifully adapted and extended with the Living room and 2 pools. The living room serves breakfast, high tea, Hors d’oevres and refreshments all day. Staff appear well trained and professional. The room was nice and had a balcony overlooking the pool. No smoking allowed. There is a frosted glass door and the only windows on the side of the room needed to be covered as people could see in otherwise ( we were in the first room so end of terrace if you like). Other rooms would have no windows due to the design . The website enticed us to the upper floor saying we would have vaulted high ceilings but this turned out to be for the larder suites only. We were welcomed nicely and requested to book our breakfast time and choose what we would like to eat. We were offered in room breakfast which we chose. Please note carefully if you have a special diet! We booked 3 nights and one night included a champagne high tea. I emailed and asked if they could cater for my vegan diet and was assured they could. I ordered breakfast with special notes, no feta in salad, and whole meal bread with baked beans. No breakfast arrived to our room at our 9 am time slot. We called and they said they expected us downstairs. Then they brought our hot food but no cutlery. Then they brought the cutlery and coffee but no salad. Then I realised that the bread was not whole meal, not white but brioche bread and that’s not vegan. I had eaten half!! The salad then turned up and had fete cheese ! Grateful that we had more than one night I presumed this one messed up breakfast would be just a hiccup. So we went for drinks and Hors d’oevres and were served canapés that were all non vegan. Breakfast problems had not been highlighted and nobody remembered who I was or that I was vegan. Second day, and breakfast was delivered with no mistakes. We attended our afternoon tea as pre booked at 2pm and the staff looked slightly shocked by our arrival at our booked time and despite emails and phone calls, my vegan set wasn’t ready. When it arrived, it was for 2 and my husband is not vegan so they then had to prepare his! They really hadn’t learned from day 1. To top it all off, they had added macarons to my set, which when I double checked, were indeed not vegan!!! Hors d’oevres in the evening, I had to request vegan again. It had not been preempted or remembered and took a good 20 min extra as kitchen wasn’t sure what to provide! Third day I was ok with the beans on toast but bored with same salad and craved a different option. None offered. Didn’t bother with evening canapés. It was peaceful and beautiful but I was very disappointed that my diet was a huge barrier to my enjoyment and that I was served non vegan food. This was meant to be a relaxing 3 day staycation to help my husband relax and unwind but the problems with my food caused unnecessary stress despite my emails before arriving and our initial breakfast problems. Hugely disappointing service surrounding my food. I expect that if you have a normal diet you would have a lovely time. It’s a lovely setting.
