The best place to relax!
This hotel is the perfect place to disconnect and relax. It is located near the main island ( just some minutes by boat) but also near some small paradises like Moyenne Island. The food is good ( a little expensive in comparison to other islands) and there is not a lot of options .. I think it definitely relies on what is provided because the Chef is really creative and make the best of the ingredients he receives. Kenneth, Simon, Jacinta, Elja and Olivia memorized all of our preferences from day one and were always happy and friendly! There is also once a week a creole night where you can taste so much from local cuisine while listening/watching to amazing performers! Rian and Narris are punctual, friendly and very professional. It was always nice and we felt safe when taking a boat ride with them to the Mahe or to Moyenne Island! :) Karine and all the reception team were always worried about us to make sure we were having the best days! A HUGE applause for Prakash.. this guy is ready to work at any hotel in the world. He is always going the extra mile to make our stay not good but excellent. ( if you are his boss and you are reading this: make sure to not loose this guy!!!) Also, don’t forget to visit the Spa. Such a beautiful place and Vita and Suri are amazing and it was the best massage we ever had! I could write a list of names of people that helped us during our stay ( from reception, restaurant, transport, maintenance..) but it would be huge. All of them are exceptional! There is of course some room for improvement ( wifi connection, tv and some other structural aspects) but the staff is so friendly and welcoming that you just feel good and forget about it. If you are looking for a place to relax, enjoy the beach and get the best service, you wont regret staying here!
A beautiful destination close to nature
Cerf Island is a beautiful resort located on a private island ten minutes boat ride from Mahe. Breathtaking views and lovely ambience for couples, families and even single travelers. Excellent hospitality and great cuisines and cocktails can make your trip even more memorable :) All the villas are beautiful and spa is one of the best we experienced!
Beautiful hideaway stay
This is a beautiful place to stay some nights. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are huge, very nice terrasse and a jaccuzzi in the openair and really big and comfortabel bath room. They prepared a beautiful cocktail on the Heli pad for sundowner with a terrific view to Victoria. They organised snorkel tours to the Marine National Park, kanoes are given for free - fantastic experience. All the offered fins were damaged and should be urgently changed to new ones. The halfboard offers with the international menus do not correspond to the expectations of the listed plates in the menucard. After the first dinner we choosed for the next two evenings the local local, creol specialities! That made us very happy because the chicken as well as the fish curry were really nice and tasty prepared. Nevertheless we can recommend this place to anyone because the positive impressions clearly dominatel.
Hidden away gem
We stayed at two resorts in the Seychelles, here and the Hilton Labriz and Cerf Island Resort is the one we would recommend. The rooms here were located in little secluded pockets of the island so when you were sitting on the huge balcony or lying in the outdoor bath you felt like you were the only ones there. The resort is perfectly located as it is a short 5 min boat ride from Eden Island and a quick 10 min bus ride from there to Victoria. You can also kayak into the marine park and visit the islands (and turtles!) there or head south from the resort to some lovely snorkelling spots. The villa we had (Karkasay) had an unobstructed view over the bay, a beautiful four poster bed and an amazing indoor / outdoor two person Jacuzzi bath. The walk to the villa was one of the nicest parts of the island, walking through beautifully canopied path. The staff were friendly and helpful with the manager Prakash organising everything perfectly, from the pick up and drop off through to the late checkout and car hire. The only cons were the lack of cats! A previous guest had complained and they had to chase them off the island... with the exception of one ginger holdout!
The perfect base for 2 weeks in the seychelles
On our third trip to the Seychelles, this time with children, we decided to stay at Cerf Island Resort, because we find island hopping without luggage on a daily basis more pleasant. Cerf offers a lot of variety (beach walks, good house reef, guided snorkelling excursions from the hotel, exciting islands in the surrounding area, short distances to Victoria, great helipad from the lookout point). The hotel organises everything extremely reliably (rental cars, excursions, etc.), which is not a standard feature in the Seychelles. The Tortoise Suite Villas (we had Takamaka) are close to the sea/pool/reception and were very large (2 bedrooms/bathrooms, each with separate entrance), clean and very adventurously placed on the jungle hillside. We would recommend rooms around the lower part of the resort to be independent of the golf car that has to transport guests up the hill (very steep hillsides). Most of the accommodation had mosquito nets, but the family villas did not (we brought our own or you have to ask for them in advance, mosquitos issues were very individually). We found the infrastructure to be adequate for a hotel of this class, only the snorkelling equipment provided is unusable (old). The kayaks are in good condition and were mostly available (bring life jackets for children). Both pools were lovely and well maintained, the beach very clean, however the house reef is a little harder to reach at low tide due to the water level, but it's worth the effort. The tranquillity of the resort is good, although individual planes, mostly small, fly over the island when landing and there are also regular motor boats due to the location opposite the harbour, the nights were very quiet. The transfer to the main island and back is possible 2-3 times a day free of charge and if there are unscheduled trips, you can join them as a hitchhiker after asking. Otherwise the tours are chargeable (but we only needed 1x in 2 weeks). The breakfast is very extensive and can only be ordered from the menu (the children's favourite was crepes with Nutella) and the evening meal offers a great menu every evening with a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian.....for good eaters somewhat small portions, but you can order more. We were never bored with our meal in 2 weeks and the fish dishes were just great. The service quality and friendliness of the staff is very high and the customer orientation is exemplified by the head of the reception (Singh), is excellent and unmatched. We would especially like to mention the clean rooms and the courteous staff in the restaurant and at the snorkelling boat (who fulfilled every wish). Now the annoying topic of WLAN, which is on the level of the 90's and is rightly complained about by almost all travellers....a difficult topic. We booked a 10 GB international package through our provider Swisscom, which cost EUR/CHF 100 and was just about enough for 2 weeks. We would do the trip again and had a wonderful, eventful time, where the price/performance ratio was also very good. Thx to all people from the Cerf Island Resort to make our life more colourful and enjoyable.
