Peaceful, tranquil, piece of paradise
What a fantastic place. If you want total r&r and tranquillity then this is the place to be. Although the hotel was fully booked, there never seemed to be lots of people around and it was easy to find a peaceful spot to sit and read. The staff were simply fantastic - so helpful and welcoming. There are two warm pools and the gardens are so beautiful. Every day the gardens were maintained by a huge team of gardeners. There is a banana plantation and you can even help with irrigating! We had a garden room which had its own seating area which was spacious and immaculately clean. The only slight grumble is that the air conditioning is very dated and didn't really work and was noisy and, as there is only a sliding door, you cannot have the window open so it was very hot at night. There were two breakfast areas - one a la carte and one self service - the self service in the pavilion was lovely with a relaxed outdoor seating area and lots to choose at the buffet plus hot food cooked to order. The a la carte restaurant offered food all day and we had some great lunches of soup and salads sitting looking out over the garden. The restaurant in the main house has a different five course menu every night and if you are half board then you have a delicious 3 course option - we ate there 4 nights in the week. The only thing was that the service was very very slow and we often did not get out main course until we were there over an hour and it was sometimes lukewarm - the service was friendly but a bit hit and miss. If you want a table outside you need to be there by 7pm! There are several reasonable restaurants just down the road as well. All in all we loved our stay - get the staff to organise a driver to take you round either the west or east of the island - it is well worth the money as you will see the most amazing scenery and villages and also organise a levada walk. We had the most marvellous stay.
We took a family trip to Quinta da Casa Branca in April. Having been all over the world for work and travel purposes I can say this was a truly amazing experience and one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The gardens, swimming Pools were great and I would strongly recommend the afternoon tea at the hotel it was really nice and a great price. Beautiful setting with the most wonderful team of staff that were extremely helpful and nothing was too much. Thank you to everyone at the Quinta da casa Branca you made our family holiday and we will be back very soon. Thank you again!
Everything about this hotel was wonderful, the gardens, the delicious breakfast served on the terrace, our suite in the manor house, the tasting menu with accompanying wines and the fabulous massage at the spa. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel.
A FABULOUS recommendation
We opted for a garden villa, overlooking and part of the surrounding beauty The staff from the very outset have been friendly, helpful and courteous We are so glad we opted for half board, as dinner is sublime. The chefs make sure every element is, perfectly cooked, very tasty and beautifully presented. This hotel and staff offer TOP quality, food, drinks and surroundings at an affordable (not a silly) price, so it’s no wonder the number of people we have met are returning guests from all over Europe. Looking forward to our last few days here Kevin and Kathy from Uk
Perfect place to relax
Stayed for 11 nights and wish we didn’t have to leave Lovely room very clean and comfortable We treated ourselves to a premium room with a seating area and view of the gardens, the premium rooms get more afternoon sun The bed is a proper double and not single beds pushed together We were bed and breakfast and the breakfasts were freshly cooked and you can have as much as you like, we did not eat in the restaurant in the evening as preferred to walk out to try the local restaurants We did however have an afternoon tea at the hotel which was excellent, with freshly made sandwiches and scones and beautiful cakes made on site, really no need to go to Reid’s! Come here for afternoon tea you will not be disappointed
