Sleeping is Overrated
We are cruising the Douro River with Viking Cruise. The 1st 2 nights are here in Lisbon and Viking has us staying at the Tivoli during this time. We arrived here from Albufeira and spent the night here to limit the number of times we had to lug our bags around the county. The hotel is certainly luxurious and we were looking forward to having a cocktail or two at their roof top bar. However, when we arrived, we were told the bar was closed for a private party(a wedding). No problem. However, when we returned to our room on the 7th floor, we were greeted with the thumping sound of EDM that continued through the night. At 12:53 AM I called the front desk and was told that the music would continue until 2:00 am. I then attempted to go to the bar to complain but was stopped by security before I could even get there. The music continued until about 2:30 am and for the next 90 minutes we were greeted with more banging from above as the staff was taking down stuff for the next morning. We complained to the front desk the next morning and not only wouldn't they consider any discounts to our room they didn't even apologize for the fact we got no sleep that night. They suggested we can move to another room. Again, it's a beautiful property in the best part of Lisbon, but if you consider staying here, steer clear of any rooms on the 7th floor.
Excellent Hotel in a Great Location
The hotel is located in a beautiful area near high-end shopping and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is excellent. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds are very comfortable. My favorite part of the hotel is the upstairs restaurant and bar that is indoor/outdoor and overlooks the city. The food is excellent and the views upstairs are great. This was a really excellent hotel and I would definitely stay there again.
Great Location with comfortable rooms and a decent restaurant
The Hotel is very good with friendly service in a great location. The unexpected bonus was the spa which was EXCELLENT. The spa is part of the Anantara group and the personnel are some of the very best I have ever experienced. According to the Manager Lucia they are hand picked, trained and constantly monitored to maintain their very high standards.
Pre river cruise stay
Stayed for 2 nights before heading off on a Viking river cruise. Room was very comfortable, sleep quality was good. Coffee and tea not replenished the second day. Main foyer area very light and airy and a pleasant spot to relax. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of both hot and cold. Fresh orange juice and hot drinks brought to table by attentive staff. Enjoyed a mimosa on both mornings. It was an enjoyable stay and set us up nicely for our journey on to our river cruise.
Nice hotel but poor service
My room was noisy, it was a noise like water going throw the walls for the 24 hours. The check in was at 3 pm, but i had to wait an hour for the room, they invite me a drink and left me in the lobby till i got tired and claim for the room Nobody seems to care The pool was full of people and there was a very rude man encharged As all the hotels are full they never care about the service and after pandemic they just wanna earn money
