Yes its a Marriott. Lot of kids. But everything is done exceptionally well. The beach is wonderful and there is the full array of stores and services expected at a mega resort. On a par with a 4 Seasons.
Poor Service Right Cross the entire hotel
We checked in from Marriot Lisbon after a glorious stay there for five days except the Gym wasn't clean & working properly but the GRO addressed the issues immediately. Here at Pine Cliff Suites the service is very poor & there is no sign of Senior management at site. Drinking Water is a very Scarce commodity at this hotel- they RATION 2 x 500cl per room of two adults every day. If you need more you have to order through reception & wait an average of One Hour even in the middle of the night. I wrote to the General Manager Thomas Schoen but never received a reply. He is ineffective & not hands on GM. This is becoming a problem at Marriot Hotels. They lack good managers who are hands on & willing to address customer issues. If this Pine Cliffs site has an Executive Lounge we will not have to wait this long or if the evening turn around staff can leave two bottles of water we don't have to disturb staff in late hours of the evening to deliver water to our room. the outside temp. is 28C & after working out at the gym or drinking in the evening to find no water in the room for which you are paying over 400 Euro is POOR Service to say the least. I had to complain twice regarding this matter & got no where or received any response from the GM to my note to him. Mr Thomas Schoen may be GM in paper & but this is a Sinking Ship without a Captain. Marriott Management at Head Office please take note of it. If this is a yard stick to go by we need to look at Intercontinental Hotels or Hiltons Group. Very Dissatisfied Titanium Member - Gerard Rayappu
We stayed at this property early June 2022 on the Residences side, 3 bedrooms (2 masters) and 3 baths. Fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer. Beautiful, may pools, lawn and chairs. Paolo our concierge was extremely dedicated and helpful. Paolo assisted us in finding a transportation to Sevilla and called to make sure that everything was ok.Amazing lush grounds and beach. There are many options to dine in, from breakfast to dinner and snacks. We had a beautiful massage at the Spa. The property is extremely well maintained and manicured. If we go back to Portugal we will go again.
Loved this stay!!
Obsessed with this resort! Amazing rooms, service, amenities, restaurants, beach, and the most accommodating staff. Shoutout to Chef Romy for making our amazing omelettes every morning! I had mentioned something about spinach and he made sure to have it from then on. Wish I could have stayed forever!
Five star resort offering two star experience
We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 children) very excited for our nine night stay in the 5 star Pine Cliffs resort ( cost €6,200). This was our first visit. Without doubt, this resort has five star facilities. We found our accommodation superb, cleaning service very good. Adequate swimming pools and amazing lift access and boardwalk to a stunning beach! Gardens are perfectly manicured and beautiful. Unfortunately, this resorts fails to deliver any level of satisfactory service. I feel management must accept responsibility for the slow, uninterested and unfriendly staff. This is not a one off experience but exists in every area/ restaurant/ bar of the resort. The resort does not appear to be exceptionally busy yet it takes at least 15 mins to order a coffee for breakfast and at least 39 mins to get a drink during the day! Don’t expect poolside service either! The same manager is busy ticking and looking at checklists every morning at breakfast! Service staff at breakfast are very efficient at clearing tables but otherwise you are ignored. Not surprising as service and staff attitude should be led from middle management down. If the Manager isn’t bothered to say good morning and smile then why would the staff! We are part of a group of families who travelled from Ireland and we are all totally frustrated with service. I have posted a separate review of the Piri Piri Steakhouse as our experience there was shocking also! I have travelled extensively and this is the first resort where I have encountered such unengaging staff! Even the numerous small cute children do not get a hello or acknowledgement! This is a management issue which needs to be immediately addressed! On checkout we were not even asked the standard- Did you have a nice stay? perhaps this is because they are getting so many complaints? The most offensive of all is after travelling back to Ireland this morning I received an email from the Pine Cliffs encouraging me to post a positive review on Tripadvisor if I enjoyed my stay and to email the Hotel if I had any issues with my stay…. all I can say is unbelievable!!! This resort is targeting corporate conference business and is not interested in families having a happy five star holiday experience they have paid for. The on site restaurants are overpriced with very slow service. There is limited entertainment for adults or children at night time. For convenience with young children we dined within the resort for lunch most days. Highly recommend the restaurants outside the resort for quality, service and value! A 3 course meal with wine outside the resort costs the same as a light snack drink and ice cream for lunch within the resort. I hope Pine Cliffs work to bring life & soul back to this beautiful resort but our family of four and 2 groups of friends ( 2 families of six) will unfortunately not be back!
