Excellent - definitely will be back every year
Excellent service in all facilities, bars and restaurants. The golf staff are amazing and the waitresses very helpful and kind. Special thanks to Marilia who took care of us at the club house. People like her definitely add value to this fantastic place
It’s tempting to start by saying ignore the poor reviews but the people who wrote them are entitled to their opinions. However, having just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel it’s hard to see where you could find fault in this place. The main hotel has an elegant, classic style it’s all tiles and marble. This might be a bit old world for some people but we thought it was lovely and exceptionally clean. The room we had was very generously sized with a huge comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom with rainfall shower. The hotel itself is set amongst lush gardens and pine trees on the cliffs above it’s own stretch of beach, it’s a magnificent setting with great views of the sea and amazing sunsets. The wider Pine cliffs resort is very large and sprawling, if you stayed in another part of the resort I can imagine it’s a long trek for the restaurants or for breakfast. Breakfast was the only time that the place felt crowded as the whole hotel is serviced in the same dining area. However, we quickly realised that there is a definite rush hour and if you avoid it, the experience is completely different, it’s a calm and relaxed atmosphere. In terms of restaurants, there are several. Two were closed while we were there but we ate in all of the others and all were of an excellent standard. The fish restaurant pescador was a highlight, but we also ate a lot in Corda cafe by the pool and found the food to be good quality with plenty of choice. There are also several bars in the hotel but Mirador the sunset bar is by far the best for a drink in the evening. In terms of activities the hotel has a gym, spa, a golf course and tennis courts we made use of most of these. They also have a wine shop on site which offers wine tastings, I’d highly recommend this it was enjoyable and very reasonably priced. Location wise it’s €20 in a taxi to Albufeira or Villamoura if you want a change of scene or some nightlife. There wasn’t much in the way of hotel entertainment although there was live music one night in the cafe. Lastly, the service throughout our stay was exceptional. Everyone we spoke to was warm, helpful and friendly. You could really tell that they were trying so hard to look after you during your stay. This can’t be easy in these times and having to wear masks for large parts of the day in hot conditions so they should be commended for their efforts because we couldn’t fault them. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future.
This place is amazing. You have everything you need inside the resort to spend a good and relaxing holiday. A lot of pools, direct access to the beach and amazing restaurants inside the compound. i recommend.
The best resort!
Such a great place to enjoy a peaceful stay in beautiful Algarve. Direct access to the beach, and several high quality restaurants within the compound. If you want you can enjoy your entire holidays within the complex
Shuttle service made the trip
My family has been coming to Pine Cliffs for 20 years, and we always enjoy the experience. For this particular visit however, we were completely enamoured by one of your shuttle bus drivers, Claudio. He is the face of pine cliffs, not only for us but for everyone who called a shuttle past noon (7 days a week), since there was only one driver (meaning that there is ultimately only one person you see every day). Everyone who stays has a personal relationship with him, and doesn't merely just meet him, due to the repeated interaction. He is courteous, helpful, personable, goes above and beyond what is required and really sets the tone for the resort. I know for a fact he is the major and most recognizable point of contact for guests; I have personally witnessed - multiple times - him slowing down, waving and asking guests how they are and just generally being affable and gregarious, as he drives by. Sometimes it's just the smallest things that make the stay that much better - and I implore you to let him know how valuable and appreciated he is. My advice to anyone wanting a great holiday here is, know that if a trivial service such as a shuttle is superb, you can expect excellence in every quarter. As a personal favour: please let him know how thankful Ben and Ruth are for his help and service, and we hope to see him next year. All the very best, Ben
