Last-minute stopover for 2 nights!
We arrived here after getting caught in the sandstorm catastrophe affecting Fuerteventura. Our flight was diverted so we were put up in the hotel for a couple of nights. At short notice, this was superb so fair play to Jet2 for getting us in here. Due to it being low season, it was fairly quiet. The hotel itself is fantastic and certainly looks like a 5 star. The staff were attentive, the suite we stayed in was excellent and the grounds were pretty too. We didn’t use the pool as the water was way too cold but it was a good size and there was lots of room to sunbathe! Our only minor critique would be the food at the included buffet - in fairness, having to cater for hundreds of extra guests at short notice must of had some effect. However, the choice was pretty poor and it didn’t get filled regularly, leaving some choices standing for a long while. The food at the outdoor restaurant was much better, although this was paid for. Overall, a good place to stay for a stopover. We only went out of the hotel grounds briefly, and most of the shops and restaurants were closed. Be aware of this when booking for this time of year!
Corona worries eliminated
This has been my 15th year at Pine Cliffs and the reason I (we) keep coming back is the attention to detail in making sure their guests have an enjoyable stay, well they did it again. Amid threats of closure and restrictions caused by the dangers of Covid 19 virus, the management put into practice many things to dampen the fears of the guests by placing numerous sanitizer units around the resort and controlling the flow of people in public areas, together with all of the reception staff and restaurant service personnel wearing protective gloves and face masks. Unfortunately the Portuguese authorities made the final decision of closing the golf course/Driving Ranges and all surrounding restaurants and bars making it very difficult to train and entertain our 27 German golfers. The hotel director organized room service and breakfast boxes for all our guests and made their stay to the very last day very enjoyable. Many of our guests who were staying in the main hotel were offered another room in numerous villas outside of the main building in case the main building was closed down. The clubhouse staff were exceptionally friendly and obliging during these difficult days and never lost their smile (Special mention goes to Luis, Tila, Victor, Antonio and Angela: Thank you for making our stay once again very enjoyable.) Our special Golfunlimited trainings week is made all the more successful when the Hotel management and its staff ensure that everything runs smoothly. One thing is for sure.......we WILL be coming back for our 16th anniversary (Corona Virus permitting) I would have given 5stars but for the weather but that was not the hotels fault.
good as hotel, but details count on 5 star.
to be clear: it's a nice stay. but for 5 stars we expect more Pro - build is well cared, new - a lot of space - service is nice and people are gentle - wifi work good - bathroom is big and nice - nice ocean view (but only few rooms have it) Cons - many restaurants but only 1 is a real restaurant (o Pescador) other are a tex/mex, other are closed. - what is "champagne del la casa" ? a real low... (see photo) - level of restaurant is low (see my comment part about it) - a bit messy: families with children make spaces a bit noisy. - breakfast: too many people: you have to stay in queue for a cou0le of minutes waiting a seat. - breakfast is decent but as many north European hotels.
Fantastic hotel 5star service . Upgraded to a sea view room so glad as weather was hot and sunny 🌞 got sun all day room 196 . Not many guests about and some restaurants closed but it was perfect for us . Breakfast was amazing and the restaurant that was open was very good . Staff very pleasant and helpful. Stunning views and well kept grounds . Definitely go back .
Very nice with minor minus’s
Lovely hotel. Great for families with kids. Amazing kids area, great golf, lovely surroundings and beautiful view. Restaurants was not good. We where here in October so many restaurants was closed this time of year. It was the Same for lunch and dinners. The food was actually not good when we were there. Gym was excellent. Swimming pool great. We had some questions regarding arrangements for celebrating our father that was not possible to get help with so we found the staff a bit non flexible.
