Another wonderful visit
I’ve stayed at this resort many times over the last 10 years but never in September and never during a pandemic so wanted to leave a new review. I arrived at PineCliffs around 8pm to a temperature check at the entrance and a warm greeting from the reception staff. They talked me through the guidelines/restrictions and then my luggage was brought to my room. I was staying in an ocean view deluxe room in the hotel itself, the room was lovely. Very big, had a big tv, modern bathroom and balcony overlooking the cliffs and ocean. The hotel wasn’t very busy so it was wonderful never having to queue for restaurants or drinks, and never having to worry about getting a sun lounger! The staff were just wonderful during my stay, everyone was so kind and friendly and it made the trip so much better. My only complaint is that the rooms weren’t very well soundproofed, so if you’re a light sleeper like me I’d bring earplugs. However I asked reception if it was possible to change room due to noisy neighbors and they kindly found me a new room immediately. Another great stay at this stunning resort, I already can’t wait to come back.
High Level of service and hospitality even while COVID
Nice Duplex Ocean Suite due to an SNA in the App, a Portuguese red wine bottle was waiting in the room as welcome gift, very nice staff in the whole complex and a very good breakfast buffet as well. Everything is super clean and well managed. Thank you very much
We just stayed 3 nights but enjoyed every minute. Beautiful room, amazing tranquil gardens and stunning views. Staff were professional, treatments at the spa were relaxing and we look forward to returning again.
Dirty rooms and rude staff
The hotel is in a beautiful area, but the service is not what you would expect from a 5 stars hotel, the staff is rude and unprepared and seem to blame the client when something goes wrong or use covid as an excuse. - The first appalling thing is that you need to have some special cards to use towels at the pool, they seem to be afraid that people will steal their towels. - The rooms are not clean - The staff is unhelpful: We had a duplex suite that was extremely small and packed with furniture, as we have a small baby and the bedroom could barely fit a cot we asked to see other option when we arrived and the receptionist said there wasn’t much she could do as that was “our mistake”, she kept repeating that all the time. - On our second day we ordered room service from their app, when the order came it was completely wrong (we had had the same food the night before so we knew that it wasn’t what we ordered), and it was served in boxes with no cutlery. We called the room services staff and the answer was again that it was our problem, we kept trying to talk to the duty managers, but no one took responsibility, they ended up charging us the entire amount and not even apologising for the mistake.
Our baby vomited on the bedsheets and it wasn't cleaned for 3 days until we finally asked them. Also there was what looked like dried blood on the lampshade. Poor service in general and everything was blamed on 'Covid restrictions'. On the plus side the Japanese restaurant was excellent and the location is great.
