O Terraço offers a contemporary family dining experience and stunning ocean views. Enjoy breakfast on the terrace and regional food and wine with surf and turf options.
Enjoy Italian favourites including antipasti, salads, pizza and pasta at Os Gambozinos which is located in the Village Square so that kids can amuse themselves in the adjacent play area. Service is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere here is informal, light-hearted and family friendly. Parents can relax and enjoy their meal, while children entertain themselves at the play area in the Village Square. You can choose from a range of hot take-away dishes.
The stylish beach restaurant, As Dunas is renowned for its superb seafood and offers a tempting lunchtime menu, afternoon snacks and dinner. Enjoy the catch-of-the-day on the shaded terrace while listening to the sea lapping the shore. Kids will love the fenced-in sandy play area and trampoline.
Spa & wellness
The Kids Club caters for children from 2-5 years. During the holiday season, 6-9 year olds are catered for in the Fox Club which offers indoor and outdoor unsupervised activities, 10-14 year olds can enjoy themselves at the Explorers Club, and 15-17 year olds can stay active at the Blast Club, with sports such as windsurfing, surfing diving and biking.
A dedicated creche and babysitting services are also available at an extra charge.
What’s nearby? The area around this resort is lovely and quiet, and the hotel runs a shuttle into Sagres if you fancy exploring the closest village. Beyond a cluster of restaurants, the main attraction here is the beach – conditions are great for surfing, or you can take a boat out and go dolphin watching.
Tried and tested There are some great academies you can pay extra for during the main school holidays and it's best to book in advance – we love the football academy* for children aged 4-12, which runs for an hour every morning over five days. There are also tennis academies* from age 4 all the way up to 16, and both small group and private swimming classes* for water babies aged 2 to 9.
The sleeping arrangements We love the design-led Beach Rooms, which are set in clusters of four close to the main hotel, and have incredible views towards the sea from a private balcony or terrace. They sleep two adults plus an infant under two in a cot, but you can also book an interconnecting room. For larger families, we recommend the Pinewood Houses – they’re set slightly away from the main village on a little close, so they feel really private, and each one has its own private pool. The biggest is the three-bedroom Master Deluxe option.
