Perfect venue for a wedding
We chose this as our wedding venue based on (i) the countless good reviews, (ii) the pictures (especially the fact the gardens are immediately outside the hall so you can switch between both for your events depending upon the weather and beautiful sea views from the cliff for the ceremony itself) and (iii) forthcoming information from the Events Team (especially Marcia and the F&B Director). We actually visited the hotel only after securing it as our wedding venue. Although we had seen countless pictures of the hotel, we were still surprised by how beautiful the grounds are. During our stay, all staff were extremely accommodating to all our requests (as we wanted to measure parts of the hall, see the grounds at night with the floodlights, see all types of rooms our guests are going to stay in etc.) Due to COVID 19, we started discussions with the hotel in March to postpone our wedding by 12 months (to June 2021). They were extremely responsive and accommodating and we reached an agreement fairly swiftly. We would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding (especially an Indian wedding due to its size). Please note, we did look into over 50 hotels in the Algarve area and there was no hotel as flexible & accommodating as Cascade who fulfilled our requirements. We look forward to seeing you all in June 2021. A huge thank you to Marcia from the Events Team for all her hard work. Rikesh & Sapna
5+ Stars - Beyond Expectations Service
We arrived at the CWR on March 16th and stayed until March 26. We stayed in a one bedroom pool view apartment. Room 1203. The first impression when pulling into the resort is a sense of serenity. The resort is beautiful from the entrance and every bit after. As you enter the lobby area you enter the luxury of the CWR. Check in was hassle free and very welcoming. As the resort is large one of the employees drove in front of us to guide us to our apartment. The apartments are beautiful. Luxury bathroom with deep soaker jet tub, heated floor, and modern fixtures. Top notch. Large bedroom with lots of storage. Separate living room with large TV and comfortable couch and chair. Both the bedroom and living room have large sliding glass doors opening onto your personal outdoor patio with loungers and table and chairs. These allow lots of natural light and fresh air into the apartment. There is also a dining area with large dining table and chairs. And it continues...the kitchen is modern and contains everything needed to cook full meals. Again overall the apartment accomodations were perfect. Walking out from the sliding glass doors you have access to lush gardens, grass areas, the sand bottom pool, and pathways. As March temperatures are still not hot, low 20s, the water in the pools were chilly but on the days when the sun is shining (which is almost everyday) it is refreshing. The sand bottom pool is great for children. We had our 8 month old baby. Sitting on the sand and playing is great pass time for kids. Due to the current global situation there was very little people staying at the resort and the spa was closed so the resort allowed us to utilize the spa pool which is more isolated from the wind. Whether you are into being active on vacation or not the soccer fields are pristine. You will want to kick a ball just to walk the perfectly maintain fields. We walked to the children's play are to take a look and it looks very fun. Even we would have in there. Again, we were there during the COVID crisis so the resort amenities were not operating or at full operational status. The buffet breakfast, again not the usual, was still great. Lots of choices. Cheeses, meats, fruits, breads, pastries, fresh honeycomb, and my favourite smoked salmon, and more. The buffet dinner was not operational so as an alternative they offered the dinner in their Senses restaurant from a daily menu. Choice of appetizer, main course, and desert. Please the chefs nightly pre-appetizer and pre-desert, breads and nightly flavoured butters. In addition they have a large selection of wines. We took our desert back to our apartment every night because we were stuffed every time. The food is five star. Hands down some of the best dishes I have eaten. We did not utilize the golf academy but I intend to do so during our next visit. The grounds are large and nice for an evening walk after dinner to burn off some calories and enjoy the clear skies, but there is also a path from within the resort that leads to a gate to the maintained paved, wood, and dirt trails along the oceans cliffs that this part of Portugal is famous for. We walked them daily. Due to the perfect location of the CWR you will see postcard views all along these trails. If you are a beach person there are plenty of secluded beaches scattered along the bottom of the cliffs. We had a vehicle but you do not require one as the walk into historic downtown Lagos is easily achieved either via the cliff top trails or city streets. All in all a beautiful resort in a beautiful location. I would like to end this review by giving a big thank you to all of the resort staff members who were pleasant and attentive at all times. Given the current state of the country and world during this pandemic each of the them provided the attention to service even through these uncertain times. We thank them immensely and hope that their families and they stay safe and healthy. I would like to specifically point out Catarina who checked up on us daily right up until the hotel closed, and ensured we were well stocked and healthy. She went above and beyond, and we greatly appreciate her genuine concern and attentive attitude. We hope to see you when we return.
Rodeo Drive in Lagos, PT
We did a two week tour of Portugal arranged by our awesome trip consolidator Portugal Trails. We travelled during off season in early amarch, and they selected thhe Cascade as our hotel during our Lagos visit. Wow. The place is very new and poised up on the highest ground around the cool little beach tiwn of Lagos. A couple old hippies like us dont generalky hob nob with the spa and mudbath crowd, but here we were, in the lap of overt luxury. A stunning reception area, very nice spacious rooms with L’Occitane toiletries, and a view of the immaculate pool and sea beyond. It reminded me for all the world of a Hollywwod spa the glitteratiwould frequent in Hollywood. You will be pampered and treated like a rock star. Breakfast on the terrace was incredible and served by busy but polite waiters. We were pretty blown away by this place. I dont think anybody could be too jaded to not believe this place world class. Enjoy!
