Fantastic Hotel, that I'd highly recommend
We were staying here in order to visit the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. We stayed three nights in one of their lodges and received wonderful service. The food was excellent, varied and with a wide selection for me (I don't eat meat). The public areas by the pool and gardens were an oasis. If you want a combination of luxury, the sacred valley and Macchu Pichu this is the hotel for you. We stayed there on the night the Peruvian President announced a state of emergency and lockdown. The owner came to talk to us to assure us that she would look after us no matter what, that they would help us in any way possible to get home and was incredibly calm and her manner comforting.
After a busy day traveling from Ecuador then exploring the Sacred valley and Pisac Ruins it was a complete pleasure to be dropped off here. The place is organized into private casitas. Ours was spacious with a sitting area, large bathroom, king size bed, storage and a covered sitting area outside. The flowers and overall landscaping throughout the premises were lush and amazing. Beautiful pool, lounging area, work out room, walking paths and the restaurant was superb. We stayed two nights and had breakfast twice, dinner twice and drinks at the bar. No need to leave! Highly recommend.
Must we leave?
This is a stunningly beautiful respite from a busy travel itinerary. The casitas are very roomy, with gracious and delightful appointments: Heated floors, heated towel bars, Coffee and Tea station, sweets, birding guide, patio, furry hot water bottles in the bed at turn down. The bathroom alone is larger than most hotel rooms! The grounds are exceptionally beautiful and welcoming. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast will satisfy any palette and the staff is most gracious. The only complaint is that we had one night before we had to leave! Bummer.
Stopped at Sol y Luna with our group for an exquisite lunch. The grounds of the hotel are stunning. The staff was impeccable. The tranquility of its location was perfection. Would stay here in a heartbeat when we return.
The Wow factor
The stylish casitas certainly take your breath away. Decorated in Andean style they are private and very comfortable, set in beautiful grounds. A nice touch to cope with chilly February nights were the hot water bottles inserted in the beds whilst we were at dinner. The restaurant and bar are decorated with effigies of musicians and their instruments. Food was excellent and breakfast on the patio a delight. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Just the right base fo explore the sacred valley.
