nice, clean hotel
Very modern hotel with your basic amentiites. The building has four elevators. Breakfast is served promptly at 6am. The room has a minibar, safe, etc. Location is in a safer neighborhood- Miraflores. But, you can hear all the street noise therefore I did not sleep well.
I Recommend This Hotel In Lima
Not perfect but very nice hotel in Lima. Staff was friendly and efficient. Many were multi-lingual, including English. Rooms can be hit or miss. Ours was great. Clean, modern, comfortable. One of the couples we traveled with had trouble with the air conditioning. They couldn’t get the room to cool down. No wash cloths in bathrooms, which is not unusual here. Breakfast was good. The bar is small but nice. Location is convenient.
we spent 2 nights at this hotel in Lima. At the beginning and the end of our tour in Peru. It seems we have been to 2 different hotels. When we arrived the firs night everything was efficient, the hotel is nice, rooms are big and clean. The reception was fast and the offer us an early breakfast since we were leaving before 6 am. When we came back the night after the tour, the reception was not efficient, the consierge insist to book us a table at a restaurant and when we get there there was no reservation at all. We asked the reception for a body lotion, as none was in the room, 4 times. When we asked for an early breakfast they said was not possible...difficult to make a judgment after such different treatment. Just a notice the hotel is at least 1 hour from the airport by taxi. It is located in the center of Miraflores.
Landing in Lima
We arrived into Lima Airport about 20:30, were met by our transfer and taken directly, well as directly as you can in the traffic in Lima, to the José Antonio Lima Hotel in the Miraflores district of Lima, the main tourist district. The hotel is a modern hotel, is large and as well as catering for guests the hotel hosts conferences, of a large size. There were two on over the two days we were in the hotel but they didn't really have any impact on our stay. We were warmly greeted at the hotel and soon checked in. A member of staff helped us with our bags up to the room. The room was a large room, with wall length windows, although the view out into the street wasn't the greatest. However this is central Lima and I didn't have high expectations of a great view, not being close to the shore. We didn't dine in the hotel during our two night stay. However we did have breakfast. Breakfast is served as a buffet service, in a spacious and comparatively grand dining-room / bar room that may also serve as a function room. We used the bar to get our free Pisco Sour (voucher given on check-in) and while it was good it wasn't as good as ones we had at other places. The breakfast buffet contained a very good selection of fare. This was to be a characteristic of the hotels that we stayed in during our trip in Peru. The available options could be broken down into cereals, fruit and fruit juices, cooked items, meats and cheeses, breads and pastries and finally, perhaps for us the biggest differences, sweets, i.e. cakes and tarts. I guess you could argue that some of the pastries might fall into the cakes and tarts category. I settled for orange juice, pancakes with maple syrup and some toast with strawberry jam. Coffee or tea was served at the table, I had coffee which was good and strong. On our second morning, we were up early, at 5:00am, to catch a flight but the hotel accommodates this by offering at 'continental' breakfast at this time. However you could be lucky as I suspect it depends which items may be ready and available at that time as staff are obviously already preparing and serving items that might be available. Our room was on the 5th floor, well serviced by escalators. The room was large, bright, well furnished and fitted. The bed was large and comfortable. In the main part of the room there was the bed, a table and two chairs, positioned by the full length windows, a desk and chair and a large fitted wardrobe on one side of the room. This contained a safe and I think and ironing board and iron. The bathroom was well fitted out too. Nothing exceptional, contained a bath and shower, toilet and wash hand basin. There was enough space to move around and good space for laying out toiletries and towels. The towels supplied were soft, clean and apparently fairly new. The hotel offers free wifi and the performance was good although I didn't play a lot of video content. In summary, a very comfortable and pleasant stay in a modern hotel. For us the location in Miraflores was good, we explored the area in the one day we had in Lima. Our interaction with staff was limited to check-in, check-out and breakfast but they were all polite, friendly and provided good service.
We stayed here for two nights as the first part of our trip. The staff are friendly and helpful wether it be the concierge or the bar and restaurant staff. Breakfast was good if unimaginative. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening. However when you walk in the entrance the first impression is it is dark it needs better lighting then you feel like you are walking into a mausoleum. However the biggest problem with this hotel is the construction which does not appear to have taken into account sound proofing. I’m not keen on listening to neighbours showering using the hair dryer or flushing the toilet, and that’s without my hearing aids in! The corridors appear to spread the sound of any door closing right into your room so when guests get up at 4.30 for an early flight we are all awake great.
