The lodge is located at the base of the canyon by the colca river. Rooms are big with terraces and big bathrooms. Overall the lodge and the rooms are sort of outdated but the location is spectacular. There are hot springs on the ground and a little farm with lamas and alpacas. Staff very friendly. Breakfast and restaurant good. This is a very special and nice place to spend one or two nights.
While the access to the property is rather difficult, once you are there, you’ll find the effort well worth it. Lovely staff, great food, beautiful views, great hot springs.Would stay there in a heartbeat again
You just have to stay here - it's part of the Colca experience
This is an extraordinary place to stay and probably the best way to fully experience Colca Canyon. Location? Wow! I don't want to give away too much, but every room has a delightful view and the whole hotel is in an awesome spot. Food was quite good and service was exceptional. If they don't volunteer (which they probably will) just ask for the orientation quick tour to find out about all they do there.
Was a much needed stop and reprieve on our Gate1 Peru tour. 5 star all the way around. Quiet, peaceful, hot springs, massage, llama farm, great restaurant etc. Would definitely recommend. Lots of stairs to climb and walking so pace self in the high altitude. Very courteous and accommodating staff.
Hideaway Treasure in Peru
Surprised such a fine resort off the beaten path. Had to walk down to the front desk from the parking lot but not too bad. The room was spacious and clean. The lounge chairs outside was a plus to relax and enjoy the atmoshere. Alpaca farm nearby with an information building about them and the condors. Hot springs and spa nearby in which my spouse appreciated. Restaurant was a class act by itself. No TV.
