The hotel is gorgeous and has a really great ambiance. After spending a week in the rural Amazon, this was total luxury!! The rooms were clean and spacious. We enjoyed using the pool and hot tub a couple of evenings. The pool area is somewhat small compared to other big hotels, but it never seemed crowded. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The location of the hotel was great for walking around town. Tons of restaurants and shops in the area. The staff were all very kind and helpful. They were also able to accommodate storing our luggage for a couple days while we hiked and toured Machu Picchu. Would highly recommend!
The Perfect Ending
We took our honeymoon to Peru in January 2020. Cusco was our last stop, and we could not have had a better ending. By this time we had been traveling for 3 weeks. We were tired, I was sick, and we needed somewhere to recharge before tackling Machu Picchu then heading home. Not only was this hotel stunning and pristine, but it felt like home from the moment we arrived. The staff was incredibly attentive and observant - they even knew that I hadn't changed my name yet and called me by my last name and my husband by his every time. They remembered what we were doing each day and made a point of asking us how our adventures were. I work in a hotel and never have I experienced such genuine and detailed hospitality. The breakfast was spectacular as was the pisco class. We also went to the spa, which was very nice. I loved that the massage room had a shower attached - it really adds a touch of luxury not to have to retreat to the locker room to shower. A special word of gratitude goes to Oscar the bellhop. He went above and beyond for us daily, and really made us feel like he cared about us. He is amazing at what he does.
My hubz and I were there. Oh. My. God. One word: GLORIOUS! We also had dinner. <3 The waitress Danitza is so sweet and professional. So amazing! I absolutely recommend Marriott. It is a gorgeous hotel. The decor is Peruvian. Our time in Cusco was amazing.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, great location
We stayed here almost 2 weeks when Peru shut down due tot he coronavirus. The staff were the best part. Even though the number of guests dwindled, the staff kept up the highest standards of professionalism, always thoughtful, helpful, concerned with our predicament with no thought of their own, and always with a smile, even though they knew the hotel would be closing and they would without a paycheck for an unknown period. The hotel itself was great - nice big rooms, impressive courtyard for eating, having coffee, or just talking. Excellent food, despite the difficulties of finding the right ingredients during the lockdown. Great location, a few steps from the Plaza de Armas and other major sights in Cusco. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cusco.
Great hotel in historic walls
The hotel is best located only a few steps away from Plaze de Armas and many of the most interesting places in Cusco. It has a very special charm as it is located in an old convent. All areas are tastefully furnished and decorated with lots of historic features. It has a great spa with pool, cool bar area and a beautiful and romantic historic courtyard. We stayed in a classic inca room which was rather small but had everything you might need. The bathroom is small too but beautifully appointed. There a couple of restaurants with good food choices. All staff we met was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Indeed a very special hotel that we highly recommend.
